Dental student ethics according to international codes of professional ethics in a symposium in Menoufia dentistry

   The Faculty of Dentistry, Menoufia University, organized a symposium on “Dental Student Ethics according to the international codes of professional ethics” under the patronage of Dr. Adel Mubarak, President of Menoufia University, under the supervision of Dr. Nancy Asaad, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs.

Dr. Rabab Mubarak, Dean of the College, pointed out the ethics of the profession and that the dental profession has its own ethics related to the doctor's dealings with the patient and with his colleagues within the community.

She pointed out that the dental student today is the doctor of the future, which calls for the necessity of training in the ethics of the profession since the first day of joining the college, and the dean emphasized that the medical profession is the highest human profession.

The symposium dealt with the standards and values ​​set by the American Dental Education Association, in which dentistry is taught in a professional manner. They are six principles that must be characterized by dental education, starting with efficiency, justice, integrity at work, bearing responsibility, mutual respect, and providing service and benefit to the community.

The symposium also touched on the most important rights and duties of the dental student related to dealing with and treating patients with professionalism, skill and complete confidentiality, as well as the student’s treatment and respect for his professors, the student’s dealings and cooperation with classmates, concern for the work team, as well as the student’s duties towards his college and adherence to all rules and laws regulating the educational process and examinations and maintaining buildings and medical equipment, as well as participation in university activities and community service activities, and the student’s role in representing his college and university in an honorable manner inside or outside the university’s perimeter. The Dean of the College concluded by wishing all students success and success, and that they all be an honorable front for the College of Dentistry and for the dental profession inside and outside Egypt.
