2008 Invitation to Nominate

for MEDICINE

 

The General Secretariat of the King Faisal International Prize is pleased to announce to nominate for the year 2008 (1428H) Prize for Medicine in the topic:

 

TRAUMA MANAGEMENT

 

Conditions:

1-  Nominee should be widely recognized for outstanding contributions to the topic.

2-  Nomination in Arabic or English must be submitted by universities, scientific societies, research centers and other learned circles as well as previous winners of the King Faisal International Prize, throughout the world.

3- Nominated works must be original, published, represent a contribution of the highest distinction, benefit mankind and advance scientific knowledge.

4-  Nomination should be submitted by official bodies and not by individuals or political parties.

 

Requirements from Nominated Body:

an official original letter of nomination adequately justifying the nomination of each nominee separately, including full name and address.

 

Requirements from Nominee:

 

1-  a typed CV detailing the nominee's academic background and experience and listing all the nominee's published works.

2-  list of nominated works.

3- the total number of nominated papers should not exceed (10), and that of nominated books should not exceed (6) titles.

4-   one high resolution recent color photo 4"Í6".

5- a general information form filled by the nominee, this can be duplicated if more than one candidate is nominated. Click Here

 Six copies of each nominated book or book chapter, and one original

 Or very high quality photocopy of each nominated paper is required.

PRIZE:

The Prize consists of:

    a certificate written in Arabic calligraphy and presented in a leather folder, describing the work for which the winner is awarded the Prize.

    a Commemorative 24-carat, 200-gram gold medallion.

    SR 750,000 (US$ 200,000).

Joint winners share the cash prize.

 

NOTES:

    Nomination is judged on the basis of merit alone, regardless of nationality, race, religion or gender.

    In order for nominee to qualify, all conditions must be fulfilled.

    The decision of the Prize's Selection Committee is final.

    Winners will be announced in January 2008 and will be honored at an official ceremony later in the year in Riyadh.
