The Department of Surgical Internal Medicine, Faculty of Nursing, Menoufia University, held its fifth annual conference under the title "Education, Practice and Scientific Research" under the patronage of Dr. Adel Mubarak, President of the University, Dr. Ahmed Al-Qased, Vice President of Graduate Studies, Dr. Enas Kassem, Dean of the Faculty, and Dr. Manal Farid, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies, headed by Dr. Amal Sheikh, head of the department, and Dr. Amal Shehata, secretary of the conference, and in the presence of Dr. Nasser Abdel Bari, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Education and Student Affairs, and a large number of faculty members at the Faculty of Nursing at Menoufia University, Egyptian universities and students
Dr. Amal Al-Sheikh, the head of the conference, indicated that the conference discussed many issues related to the multidisciplinary approach and how to apply it in all sub-disciplines and the challenges facing its application in specialization, and stressed the importance of this approach in providing the opportunity for faculty members to exchange experiences and knowledge in order to achieve sustainable practices that adapt with change
She added that the conference dealt, through four scientific sessions, 12 lectures on the innovation of teaching strategies in the field of nursing and others, the quality of nursing care in the light of the multidisciplinary approach, in addition to the new scientific research in the field of internal surgical nursing and non-nursing fields.
Dr. Samah Abdel Ghaffar and Dr. Amal Qanouneh, coordinator of the conference, explained that the conference aims to spread the concept of a multidisciplinary approach to enhance education, practice and scientific research in the field of internal surgical nursing and to highlight the challenges it faces in the field of internal surgical nursing in the application of the multidisciplinary approach and provide an opportunity for academics and practitioners to discuss And share emerging scientific issues in the field of nursing
During the conference, Dr. Mahmoud Moqshet, lecturer of liver surgery at the National Liver Institute at Menoufia University, discussed the multidisciplinary approach in surgery and transplantation of the liver, pancreas and bile ducts, noting that the Liver Institute has performed 385 cases of liver transplantation for adults and children, and it is one of the largest centers in liver transplantation in children in Egypt. Stressing the importance of nursing care in the success of transplant cases and major surgeries, and the importance of the role of nursing in providing medical service
Dr. Sobhi Sharaf, Dean of the College of Education, gave a lecture on friendly leadership and inputs to improve the classroom practices of faculty members.
