Under the slogan "You are stronger than drugs", the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at Menoufia University under the auspices of Dr. Adel Mubarak, President of the University and supervised by Dr. Prevention and confrontation, and for you with the aim of raising awareness of the dangers of addiction and how to combat addiction, drug abuse and AIDS.
A delegation from the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Abuse of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, within the framework of the national campaign to combat drugs under the slogan "You are stronger than drugs", toured the faculties of the theoretical complex of the university, starting from the Faculty of Mass Communication and the Faculty of Arts.
The initiative delegation included Dr. Iman Shukr, General Coordinator of Menoufia University with the Addiction Control and Treatment Fund, Dr. Mostafa Hussein, General Supervisor of Preventive Programs in Menoufia Governorate, Nihal Fawzy, Director of the Volunteering Unit, journalist Hoda El-Sayed, Media Officer in Menoufia, Noha Abdel Sadiq, Iman Ahmed and a number of young volunteers in the initiative.
The delegation was received by Dr. Nadia El-Kady, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Dr. El-Sayed El-Saeed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Hassan Khattab, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Alaa Fathy, Director General of the General Administration of Community Service at the university.
The awareness day included a variety of activities, such as seminars inside the stands between the different academic teams, placing posters inside and outside the building of the Faculty of Information and Arts, preparing forms for volunteering in the initiative, and training students on methods of prevention, confrontation, and spreading awareness. Representatives of the Addiction Control and Treatment Fund also pointed out the need for students to join the campaigns and initiatives organized by the fund periodically at the faculties of Menoufia University, in order to raise awareness of the dangers of narcotic substances, methods of early detection of the injured, the importance of prevention and participation in festivals and sports, cultural and social competitions and all student activities and camps organized by the university under the slogan You are stronger than drugs.
The Fund's representatives also urged the participation of students of the Faculty of Mass Communication in spreading preventive awareness because they are practitioners and students of the basics of preparing media and awareness campaigns. They also explained the methods of dealing with the hotline service 16023 and the professional and ethical values that the Fund follows that preserve the privacy of individuals in strict secrecy.
