The General Administration of Student Welfare at Menoufia University - the Department of Social Activity and Trips - in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Central Administration for Youth Development, the General Administration of Universities, organized a human medical convoy to serve the people of the village of Al-Iraqiya, the Martyrs Center in Menoufia, one of the villages of the Decent Life Initiative sponsored by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi .

The convoy was held under the auspices of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Dr. Adel Mubarak, President of Menoufia University, in the presence of Dr. Nancy Youssef Asaad, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and supervised by Dr. Mohamed Shaheen, Director General of the General Administration for Student Welfare.

Muhammad Shaheen stated that the organization of these convoys comes from the role of the university in serving the surrounding community and serving the people of the most needy and poorest villages, where patients are examined and treatment is given free of charge.

Muhammad Khattab, Director of Social Activity, added that the specializations in the convoy include internal medicine, children, dermatology, nose, ear, throat, bones, and ophthalmology, by specialized doctors from the university’s medical department, who are Dr. The ear and nose technician, Dr. Mahmoud Shalabi for orthopedics, Dr. Muhammad Al-Shayeb for conjunctivitis, Dr. Rania Ibrahim and Dr. Haya Sabri, to dispense medicines to patients free of charge.

Dr. Eman Shukr and Mahmoud Bakkar, from the Drug and Addiction Control Fund, participated in the convoy to raise health awareness to educate the villagers about the dangers of addiction and drugs.

The number of examinations in the convoy reached about 250 cases in the internal medicine, 280 in children, 170 in the skin, 240 in the bones, 135 in the nose, ear, and throat, and 190 in ophthalmology, bringing the number of cases to 1,365. To do the necessary work for them, and health awareness was made for all those hesitant in the convoy about the danger of addiction and drugs.

The convoy was supervised by Osama Dhaif, Ahmed Saad El-Din, Safwat Moussa, Ahmed Seif, Rasha Adel, Maha Faraj, Areej Arafa, Wafaa Bilal and Awatef El Sharkawy.
