Dr. Ahmed El-Kased  , President of Menoufia University, participated in the regular meeting of the Private Universities Council, headed by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in the presence of Dr. Abdel-Wahab Ezzat, Acting Secretary of the Council, and members of the Council, at the headquarters of the German University in Cairo.


Dr. Ahmed El-Kased  pointed out that the Minister of Higher Education directed private universities to the importance of marketing their educational programs at the Arab and African levels to attract international students, intensify student activities, and facilitate students’ visits to the Cairo International Book Fair.


In addition to continuing community participation in cooperation with the “Decent Life” initiative and quickly announcing the results of the end of the first semester exams, the meeting also discussed frameworks of cooperation between private universities and foreign universities that will be signed during the activities of the World Forum for Higher Education and Scientific Research, which is scheduled to be organized during the period from 27 -April 29th.


Dr. Ahmed El-Kased  added that Dr. Ayman Ashour referred to his meeting with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister; To follow up on the implementation of the state’s plans to improve the quality of university education and link it to the labor market and development needs, and to present the executive position of the state’s strategy for technological education, the expansion of the establishment of technological universities, and the development of their study systems, as well as the government’s program to accommodate the steady increase in the number of students in universities, and the ongoing efforts to establish a city for students. International students to accommodate the boom achieved in this context, and focus on linking study programs with labor market requirements.


The university president also added that the minister stressed the ministry’s interest in private universities and enhancing their role in achieving sustainable development goals in accordance with Egypt’s Vision 2030, noting that private universities represent an important tributary of the higher education system in Egypt in recent years, by providing distinguished modern educational programs. It meets the needs of the labor market, in partnership with prestigious international universities


During the meeting, the Minister also stressed the need to intensify student cultural, artistic and sporting activities, by increasing cultural seminars and workshops in private universities, especially with regard to citizenship and the inherent values of Egyptian society, and organizing student visits to national projects. To enhance the scientific and cultural building of students’ personalities, and develop their skills and abilities. The meeting also stressed the necessity of completing all maintenance work at universities during the mid-year vacation, and ensuring the availability of safety and occupational safety standards in all university buildings and facilities, in preparation for the start of study in the second semester.


El-Kased  said that the Minister stressed the highest importance of maximizing universities’ benefit from the Egyptian Knowledge Bank in implementation of presidential mandates, in light of the unique and enormous possibilities it provides for learning and training, and the availability of various types of science and knowledge, which contributes to improving the skills of graduates in accordance with the requirements of the labor market, as well as benefiting from it. In improving the classification of Egyptian universities, institutions and research centers internationally.


El-Kased  also indicated that the Council agreed to transfer Egyptian students returning from Sudanese, Russian, and Ukrainian universities, as well as students returning from these universities who failed to apply in previous opportunities; To complete their studies in private and private Egyptian universities in the second semester of the current academic year, through direct application to universities, with the same rules in effect in the first semester of the current academic year, with an emphasis that the student was enrolled at a Russian, Ukrainian, or Sudanese university until the academic year. 2022 - 2023 before the issuance of the decision of the Councils of Private and Private Universities on May 7, 2023.
