Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, participated in the opening ceremony of the fourth edition of the International Defence Exhibition EDEX 2025, inaugurated today by H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, at the Egypt International Exhibition and Convention Center.
The event brings together 500 leading global companies specializing in armament, defence, and advanced technologies, alongside the participation of several Defence Ministers from friendly countries. Egypt is hosting the exhibition from 1 to 4 December under the patronage of the President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
The exhibition features a wide range of advanced displays highlighting Egypt’s leadership in defence industries, and includes international pavilions representing 25 countries, with exhibitors from around the world showcasing the latest technological advancements in defence and armament. EDEX 2025 also welcomes official delegations from more than 100 countries and is expected to attract approximately 45,000 specialized visitors and professionals.
Prof. El-Kased emphasized that EDEX 2025 is one of the most significant defence exhibitions globally and a premier international platform specializing in advanced defence systems. He praised the exhibition, affirming that organizing an event of this magnitude reflects the remarkable achievements accomplished under the leadership of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who has led a comprehensive renaissance in military manufacturing and the development of defence and security systems.
He reaffirmed that the modern technologies and international partnerships witnessed at EDEX 2025 clearly demonstrate Egypt’s global standing and its capability to host world-class events that reflect its regional and international leadership.
The University President expressed his pride in attending this major global event, noting that the participation of educational institutions in such large-scale exhibitions strengthens the role of scientific research and its connection to defence industries by supporting innovation, technological development, and knowledge transfer. This contributes to meeting the needs of the state, enhancing its production and military capabilities, and aligns with Menoufia University’s commitment to supporting national directions toward innovation and development in military industries and smart defence systems.
He also commended the scale of international participation, which reflects global confidence in Egypt’s strength and regional leadership, confirming that Menoufia University will continue to support the political leadership’s vision to build a strong scientific and technological base that serves the state’s comprehensive development plans and Egypt’s Vision 2030.
