Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, chaired the monthly meeting of the Deans’ Council online, in the presence of Prof. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Nasser Abdel-Bari, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; and Ms. Soaad Bayoumi, Secretary-General of the University. The meeting was held within the framework of following up on the latest developments of work within the University’s faculties and institutes, reviewing ongoing activities, and discussing items scheduled for presentation to the University Council at its upcoming meeting, in a manner that ensures the regularity of the educational, research, and administrative processes in accordance with the highest standards of quality and institutional governance.
At the beginning of the meeting, the University President extended his congratulations to all members of Menoufia University on the occasion of the approaching celebration of the University’s 49th Anniversary, emphasizing that this occasion represents an important milestone in the University’s history and reflects a long journey of dedication, excellence, and academic and community leadership, as well as the achievements accomplished by the University in various fields.
Prof. El-Kased also congratulated Ms. Soaad Bayoumi on the issuance of the decision appointing her as Secretary-General of the University, wishing her continued success in her new responsibilities and expressing his confidence in her ability to support the administrative work system and enhance institutional performance at the University.
The University President congratulated the University community on Menoufia University’s receipt of the Carbon Footprint Report issued by the Egyptian Organization for Standardization and Quality, making it the first Egyptian university to obtain this report. He noted that the award was presented by Eng. Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, during the celebration of World Standards Day, organized by the Egyptian Organization for Standardization and Quality in cooperation with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Office in Egypt. This achievement reflects the University’s commitment to applying environmental sustainability standards and protecting the climate.
Prof. El-Kased praised Menoufia University’s achievement of third place among governmental, private, national, and technological universities in the competition for Best Environmentally Friendly University in the category of universities aged 20 to 50 years. The results were announced during the official meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities at Suez Canal University, where Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, presented the award, in recognition of the University’s efforts in implementing environmental sustainability policies and promoting green practices on campus.
On this occasion, the University President expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Prof. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, his accompanying team, and all staff members of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector for their distinguished efforts and effective role in achieving these pioneering environmental accomplishments.
Prof. El-Kased also congratulated Major General Ibrahim Abu Leimon, Governor of Menoufia, and all citizens of the Governorate, on the announcement by the Egyptian National Commission for UNESCO of the inclusion of Shebin El-Kom in the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities for 2025, as one of three new Egyptian cities alongside Cairo and Mansoura. He affirmed that this achievement reflects a strong commitment to human development and the building of a sustainable learning society.
The University President further congratulated Prof. Mostafa Refaat, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities, and all council staff, on the Council’s attainment of four international ISO conformity certificates, including ISO 37000:2021 for Governance and ISO 30401:2018 for Knowledge Management Systems. The Supreme Council of Universities thus became the first national entity in Egypt to obtain these two certificates accredited by the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC), reflecting the Council’s institutional development and its pivotal role in supporting the higher education system.
Prof. El-Kased also extended his congratulations to Prof. Hossam Ahmed Said Awad on the issuance of the presidential decree appointing him as Dean of the Faculty of Science, wishing him success in continuing the process of development and advancement of the Faculty. He also expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Prof. Yasser Kamal, former Dean of the Faculty of Science, for his dedicated efforts and sincere service during his tenure.
The University President commended the Faculty of Agriculture for obtaining accreditation for four academic programs from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, after fulfilling standards of academic excellence and institutional quality. These programs are: Economic and Social Sciences (Agricultural Economics Track), Economic and Social Sciences (Agricultural Extension and Rural Community Track), Lands and Water Program, and Animal and Poultry Production Program. He emphasized that this accreditation reflects the development of academic programs and their alignment with labor market needs.
Prof. El-Kased also congratulated the Replast Build team at the Faculty of Electronic Engineering on receiving funding amounting to EGP 100,000 in the Egypt Entrepreneurship Rally 2025 competition in the field of sustainability and waste recycling, and on advancing to the finals of the competition organized by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport under the slogan “From Waste to Construction.” He praised the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship demonstrated by the University’s students.
The University President congratulated the five-a-side football team of the Faculty of Sports Sciences on winning the Delta Universities Regional Alliance Championship, hosted by the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Tanta University, affirming the University’s continuous support for sports and student activities as a fundamental pillar in building students’ character.
During the meeting, Prof. El-Kased reviewed his participation in a number of important events, including the periodic meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities; the opening of the exhibition “Localization and Development of Handicraft Projects and National Industries” within the activities of the Third Conference of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector; participation in the Fifth Forum of the Association of Arab and Russian University Presidents; his chairmanship of the meeting of the organizing committee for the celebration of the University’s 49th Anniversary; and his participation in the “Sports Against Violence” marathon supporting the campaign against violence toward women.
He also chaired a meeting of the University’s Quality Assurance Center to follow up on the readiness of the Faculties of Law and Veterinary Medicine to apply for academic accreditation, stressing the necessity of fulfilling all requirements and standards of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, thereby enhancing the University’s standing at both the local and international levels.
Prof. El-Kased pointed out his visit to the headquarters of the Menoufia Governorate General Office, where he delivered an official invitation to Major General Ibrahim Abu Leimon, Governor of Menoufia, to attend the celebrations of the University’s 49th Anniversary, underscoring the depth of cooperation between the University and the Governorate.
The University President also participated in the “Sports Against Violence” marathon organized by the Faculty of Sports Sciences at the conclusion of the “You Are Safe” campaign, in support of combating violence against women, in cooperation with the Equal Opportunities and Women’s Empowerment Unit. He emphasized the necessity for the University to play an active role in addressing community problems, studying and identifying their causes from an academic perspective, submitting recommendations to the concerned authorities, and providing all forms of psychological, social, legal, and awareness support required to address issues of domestic violence.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased called upon faculty deans to activate the Universities Organization Law and to prepare approved annual and periodic reports endorsed by the University Council, documenting the various activities and events held at faculties, in a manner that supports the institutional development system and achieves Menoufia University’s future vision toward excellence and sustainability.
