President of Menoufia University Chairs Needs Committee and Discusses Five-Year Plan for Assistant Lecturer Appointments

Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, chaired the meeting of the University Needs Committee to discuss the five-year plan for the appointment and assignment of assistant lecturers. The meeting was attended by Prof. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Nasser Abdel-Bari, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Ghada Hassan, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; and Ms. Soaad Bayoumi, Secretary-General of the University, alongside committee members including faculty deans and the Director General of Human Resources.

Prof. El-Kased emphasized that the meeting included a comprehensive review of the needs of the academic departments across the various faculties for assigning assistant lecturers, in light of the approved five-year plan for the period 2024–2029. He stressed the importance of full adherence to the five-year plan approved by the University Council and the necessity of upholding transparency and objectivity when preparing the needs plans.

The University President clarified that appointments must be made in accordance with the actual needs of the faculties and in compliance with the legal regulations and the Universities Organization Law. He highlighted the need for precise job definitions and clear requirements for each position to ensure the proper selection of young academic staff capable of supporting the University’s educational and research processes.

Prof. El-Kased noted that the committee discussed the requirements of several faculties and institutes and the principles of appointment and assignment according to the applicable regulations and legislation. The meeting specifically covered the five-year plan for the Liver Institute, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Arts, and Faculty of Electronic Engineering, aiming to achieve a balance between available resources and academic development needs.

He concluded by affirming that Menoufia University places great importance on proactive planning of human resources, which contributes to supporting the quality of education, ensuring the sustainability of qualified academic staff, and achieving the strategic goals of the University in the upcoming phase.
