President of Menoufia University Attends the Faculty of Engineering Council Session and Commends the Role of the Engineering Consultancy Center in Supporting University Projects

Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, attended the session of the Faculty of Engineering Council in the presence of Prof. Mohamed Saafan, Dean of the Faculty; Prof. Wael El-Degwy, former Minister of Higher Education and external member of the Faculty Council; Prof. Abbas El-Hefnawy and Prof. Mohamed Ezz El-Arab, former Presidents of the University; the Faculty Vice Deans — Prof. Essam Helal for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Zeinab Abdel Khalek for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Hossam El-Din Mostafa for Community Service and Environmental Development — in addition to members of the Faculty Council.

At the outset of the session, the University President extended his sincere condolences and sympathies on the passing of Prof. Sobhy Ghoneim, former President of the University and Professor Emeritus at the Faculty of Engineering. He praised the late professor’s distinguished academic and administrative contributions, which significantly supported the university’s progress and the advancement of the Faculty of Engineering over many years, affirming that the university had lost one of its prominent academic figures.

The University President commended the distinguished academic and scientific role played by the Faculty of Engineering as one of the university’s long-established faculties, highlighting its distinguished academic staff and engineering expertise that contribute to supporting the educational process, serving the community, and implementing numerous national and developmental projects.

He further affirmed that Menoufia University is proceeding in accordance with an ambitious strategy aimed at expanding the establishment of new faculties and academic programs in line with labor market demands and the requirements of the New Republic. He noted that the university is working toward expanding interdisciplinary and technological programs, as well as modern specializations that support sustainable development plans, thereby contributing to the provision of an advanced educational environment and distinguished academic and research services for students.

The University President also praised the vital role played by the Engineering Consultancy Center at the Faculty and the distinguished technical and engineering services and consultations it provides both within and outside the university. He emphasized that the Center represents an important engineering house of expertise that supports the university’s expansion and development plans and actively participates in the implementation and follow-up of numerous university projects and facilities.

He pointed out that the Center is participating in preparing the engineering designs for Menoufia Technological University within the framework of the university’s expansions in Sadat City over an area of 200 feddans, emphasizing that these expansions represent a major qualitative leap in supporting university and technological education and in providing a modern educational environment that keeps pace with development requirements and labor market needs.

The University President further affirmed that the Engineering Consultancy Center plays an important role in serving the local community through continuous cooperation with the executive authorities in Menoufia Governorate and by providing technical and engineering support and consultations for various projects, reflecting the university’s societal role and scientific expertise in supporting development plans across the governorate.

During the session, the University President addressed the importance of adhering to occupational safety standards and safety and protection measures within university facilities. He praised the role undertaken by the Engineering Consultancy Center in reviewing safety requirements and securing university facilities in accordance with the latest engineering standards to ensure the safety of students, staff members, and university facilities.

He also commended the renovation and development works carried out in the Faculty Council Hall, affirming that the completed work reflects the Faculty administration’s commitment to providing an educational and administrative environment befitting the Faculty’s stature. He praised the Faculty’s efforts in renovating and upgrading old buildings and enhancing their efficiency in a manner that contributes to improving the quality of educational and administrative services provided to students and faculty members.
