President of Menoufia University Receives Quality Assurance Delegation for the Accreditation of the Chemistry and Geology Programs at the Faculty of Science

Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, received this morning a delegation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education prior to their field visit to the Faculty of Science for institutional and program accreditation of the Chemistry and Geology programs. The visit comes within the framework of a series of field visits conducted by the Authority to the university’s faculties to evaluate institutional and program accreditation files for 12 faculties representing both theoretical and practical disciplines, coinciding with the declaration of 2026 as the Year of Quality and Excellence at the university.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Sobhy Sharaf, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Hossam Awad, Dean of the Faculty of Science; Prof. Wafaa Zahran, Director of the University Quality Assurance Center; in addition to the Authority’s delegation headed by Prof. Mohamed Hamed Abdel Aal, Head of the Delegation.

During the meeting, Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased affirmed that the university places the quality and institutional accreditation file at the top of its priorities within the framework of its plan to develop and enhance the educational and infrastructural system. He noted that these visits represent the culmination of the university’s efforts to develop the educational and research system across various theoretical and practical faculties, thereby strengthening the position of Menoufia University locally and internationally in global rankings.

The University President added that the objective is not limited to obtaining accreditation certificates, but also extends to establishing a culture of quality in all academic and administrative practices in a manner that supports Egypt Vision 2030 and the directions of the New Republic toward developing the higher education system and enhancing its outcomes in accordance with international standards.

Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased further pointed out that the Faculty of Science represents the university’s research driving force due to the distinguished group of internationally ranked scientists and researchers it includes. He emphasized that the faculty’s pursuit of accreditation for the Chemistry and Geology programs is considered a continuation of its mission to graduate qualified cadres capable of competing in both local and international labor markets according to the highest quality standards.

For her part, Prof. Wafaa Zahran explained that the delegation would inspect the faculty’s infrastructure, including lecture halls, classrooms, and specialized laboratories for the Chemistry and Geology programs, in order to ensure their readiness and compatibility with the latest equipment and technologies. The delegation will also review occupational safety and security requirements within laboratories and buildings, as well as the readiness of the Faculty’s Crisis and Disaster Unit.

She added that the visit also includes monitoring the administrative workflow, control units, and various technological units to ensure the implementation of institutional accreditation standards and administrative organization across all faculty departments.

Members of the delegation will also conduct several meetings and interviews with academic leaders, faculty members, teaching assistants, students, graduates, and representatives of civil society in order to verify the extent to which the educational programs are aligned with labor market requirements and comprehensive quality standards.

The delegation members expressed their appreciation for the level of preparedness observed within the university, praising the preparations made for renewing the accreditation of the Faculty of Specific Education, as well as the readiness of the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences to obtain institutional and program accreditation. They also commended the university’s continuous support for developing the academic and research environment in accordance with quality and excellence standards.

The delegation was received by Prof. Noha Othman, Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Deputy Director of the University Quality Assurance Center; Prof. Safinaz Hamdy El-Demerdash, Head of the Chemistry Department at the Faculty of Science; a number of faculty reviewers from various faculties; and Asmaa Refaat, Administrative Director of the University Quality Assurance Center.
