Menoufia University President Participates in Orphans’ Day Celebration, Emphasizing That Bringing Joy to Children Is a Human Duty and a Community Responsibility

Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, attended the annual Orphans’ Day celebration organized by the university in cooperation with civil society organizations, under the supervision of Prof. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development. The event reflects the university’s humanitarian and social role and its continuous commitment to bringing happiness to orphaned children in Menoufia Governorate.

The celebration was attended by Prof. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Ghada Ali Hassan, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, along with a number of deans, faculty members, and students who actively participated in sharing joyful moments with the children.

In his speech, Prof. El-Kased expressed his great pleasure in celebrating with the children, affirming that Orphans’ Day is an important humanitarian occasion that embodies values of compassion, solidarity, and social cohesion. He emphasized that Menoufia University is keen to embrace orphaned children and provide psychological and social support to strengthen their self-confidence and sense of belonging to society.

He further stated that the university places community service at the top of its priorities and actively supports civil society institutions and charitable organizations. He noted that the university continuously implements humanitarian and development initiatives targeting the most vulnerable groups, wishing the children a bright future and hoping they would one day become distinguished students of the university.

Prof. El-Kased added that the university’s support for orphaned children is not limited to a single day but continues throughout the year through ongoing communication with care homes and charitable associations, as well as providing social and medical support. He explained that this year’s celebration hosted around 205 children and included the distribution of gifts and financial support, in addition to various recreational and entertainment activities that created an atmosphere of joy and happiness. He also expressed his appreciation to all civil society organizations and businessmen who supported the event.

Prof. Sobhi Sharaf also affirmed that Menoufia University’s Orphans’ Day celebration reflects its societal mission and leading role in supporting priority groups, particularly orphans and persons with disabilities, praising the spirit of cooperation and participation that characterized the organization of the event.

The celebration witnessed the participation of several orphanages and charitable associations in Menoufia Governorate, including the Girls’ Upbringing Foundation in Shor Square, Dar Al-Anwar Al-Mohamadiya, Sers El-Layan Children’s Foundation, Dar Al-Rahma Charity Association, Dar Al-Amal Main and Branch, Dar Al-Basma, Dar Malek El-Molouk in Al-Bagour, Dar Al-Hadana Institution, Kafr El-Mesilha Boys’ Foundation, Dar Al-Hasan and Al-Hussein, Dar Al-Bahja for People with Disabilities, and Zawiyat Razine Home.

On the sidelines of the event, students from the Faculty of Early Childhood Education, under the supervision of Prof. Rania Hamed, Vice Dean of the Faculty, presented musical and singing performances. The event also included entertainment shows, magic performances, and comedy acts, which brought joy to the children and created a highly festive atmosphere appreciated by all attendees.
