President of Menoufia University Chairs the University Council Meeting, Congratulates President El-Sisi and the Egyptian People on the Anniversary of the June 30 Revolution, and Reviews Preparations for the University's Golden Jubilee Along with Achievements in International Rankings and Quality Assurance

Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, chaired the regular session of the University Council in the presence of Prof. Ahmed Zaki Badr, former Minister of Local Development and External Member of the Council; Prof. Sobhy Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs; Prof. Ghada Ali Hassan, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research; Mrs. Soaad Bayoumi, Secretary-General of the University; the deans of the faculties; and members of the University Council.

At the outset of the meeting, Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased extended his congratulations to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and to the Egyptian people on the anniversary of the June 30 Revolution. He emphasized that this historic national occasion marks a defining moment in the history of modern Egypt, embodying the Egyptian people's determination to preserve their national identity, safeguard the stability of state institutions, and advance toward comprehensive development.

The University President also congratulated Major General Amr El-Gharib, Governor of Menoufia, and the people of Menoufia Governorate on the occasion of the Governorate's National Day. He commended the integrated development and service projects being implemented across the governorate, which contribute to improving citizens' quality of life, while reaffirming the University's commitment to continued cooperation with the executive authorities in serving the community and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased reviewed the University's preparations for celebrating its Golden Jubilee, marking the fiftieth anniversary of Menoufia University's establishment. He explained that the celebrations will include a variety of significant events, in addition to documenting the University's rich history and achievements since its foundation, highlighting its academic and research excellence and its national role in preparing qualified graduates and serving society.

The University President emphasized that Menoufia University continues to achieve remarkable progress in international rankings. The University was ranked within the 401–425 global band in Agriculture and Forestry in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026. It also maintained its position in the QS World University Rankings 2026 and achieved an advanced standing in the QS Arab Region University Rankings 2026, ranking within the 151–160 category among Arab universities, reflecting its growing academic and research influence both regionally and internationally.

He further noted that the University strengthened its global presence in the US News Best Global Universities Rankings, ranking 11th among 30 Egyptian universities, 24th in Africa, and among the top 648 universities worldwide, demonstrating its sustained progress and growing international reputation.

Within the framework of declaring the 2025/2026 academic year as the Year of Quality and Government Excellence, Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased congratulated the Faculty of Electronic Engineering, Menouf, on obtaining accreditation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE). He also congratulated the Faculty of Agriculture on renewing its accreditation, the Faculty of Medicine on the accreditation of its distinguished Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Program under the 5+2 credit-hour system following the Faculty's second accreditation renewal, and the Faculty of Engineering for obtaining institutional accreditation as well as accreditation of its interdisciplinary Electrical and Computer Engineering Program.

He affirmed that these accomplishments represent another milestone in the University's outstanding record of success in quality assurance and academic accreditation. They also reflect the success of the University's strategy to promote a culture of quality and institutional excellence while continuously developing academic programs and the educational and research environment in line with contemporary developments, thereby preparing graduates capable of competing at the local, regional, and international levels and contributing to the objectives of Egypt Vision 2030.

The University President noted that a large number of the University's faculties have already obtained academic accreditation, while several others are awaiting accreditation decisions and additional faculties are preparing their accreditation applications as part of the University's roadmap toward comprehensive institutional accreditation. He praised the remarkable efforts of the Center for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Qualification, expressing his appreciation to all its staff members and the quality teams across the faculties. He also welcomed the National Authority's recognition of the significant progress achieved by Menoufia University in the field of quality assurance.

Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased also congratulated the National Liver Institute on its official registration by the Supreme Council for the Review of Clinical Medical Research Ethics, affiliated with the Egyptian Cabinet, as an accredited research institution. This distinction makes the Institute one of the few university-based research institutions in Egypt to receive such official registration under the provisions of the new law, representing another distinguished scientific and research achievement for the University.

He further congratulated the Faculty of Science after two student research teams successfully published two international scientific papers in Q1-ranked journals in the fields of water treatment and the conversion of industrial waste into nanomaterials with promising environmental applications. He reaffirmed the University's commitment to supporting innovation, scientific research, and student participation in distinguished research projects.

As part of the University's preparations for participation in national and international excellence awards, the President stressed the continuation of intensive efforts to achieve advanced positions in the Egypt Government Excellence Award and other local, regional, and international competitions, reflecting the University's ongoing institutional development across all sectors.

Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased also announced the launch of the University's new official electronic portal on 1 July, expressing his appreciation to all technical teams and specialists who contributed to designing and implementing the new platform. He noted that the initiative forms part of the University's comprehensive digital transformation strategy aimed at enhancing electronic services and improving the user experience.

The President further briefed the Council on a communication received from the Supreme Council of Universities concerning the national initiative for rationalizing electricity and water consumption in Egyptian universities. The communication included directives requiring universities to prepare detailed reports on renewable energy stations, expansion plans for solar energy utilization, the use of energy-saving technologies, rooftop solar power projects, and gray water recycling systems within university facilities.

He emphasized the strategic importance of energy and water conservation, explaining that Menoufia University has already developed an integrated implementation plan and feasibility studies for several sustainability projects. He also highlighted the University's encouragement of graduation projects that provide innovative solutions supporting sustainability and efficient resource management.

The Council reviewed preparations for the upcoming academic year, including the utilization of the summer recess for maintenance, renovation, and upgrading of educational facilities, in addition to preparing academic timetables, teaching plans, and faculty assignments to ensure the smooth commencement of the academic year from its first day.

Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased extended his sincere appreciation to all medical teams and staff members of the University Hospitals, the Faculty of Medicine, and the specialized medical institutes for their outstanding efforts during the Eid Al-Adha holiday. He noted that the University Hospitals successfully provided 16,194 medical, diagnostic, and therapeutic services during the holiday period, reflecting the efficiency of the University's healthcare system and its commitment to serving patients and the wider community.

The President also reviewed the University's major activities during June, including inspection tours of the University Hospitals, the National Liver Institute, the Oncology Institute, outpatient clinics, and the Emergency Pharmacy during Eid Al-Adha; participation in the Eid prayer alongside the Governor of Menoufia; the reception of the President of Ankara University and his accompanying delegation to discuss international cooperation; and the reception of the President of Sadat City University to strengthen academic collaboration between the two institutions.

Additional activities included monitoring second-semester examinations across the University's faculties, receiving church leaders from Menoufia Governorate to exchange Eid greetings, participating in meetings on the development of medical education and training, and chairing committees on university facilities, internationalization, global rankings, quality assurance, academic advising, and government excellence. The University also continued to monitor the progress of Menoufia National University, digital transformation projects, innovation initiatives, and professional development programs.

The President further referred to the signing of a cooperation protocol with the Medical Services Sector of the Ministry of Interior to strengthen collaboration in the fields of training, postgraduate studies, scientific research, and educational activities, thereby maximizing the mutual utilization of expertise and available resources.

The Council concluded its meeting by reaffirming its commitment to working collectively toward achieving the University's strategic objectives and strengthening its position among Egyptian, regional, and international universities, in line with the celebration of Menoufia University's Golden Jubilee and its distinguished fifty-year journey of excellence and service.

The Council also received presentations from the Vice Presidents of the University on the most significant developments within their respective sectors, including the progress of second-semester examinations, early preparations for the new academic year, examination control procedures and the announcement of results, student activities, initiatives supporting scientific research, international publication, academic cooperation, community and environmental programs, and ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships with various societal institutions in support of sustainable development and community service.
