Today, Dr. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, chaired the discussion of a master’s thesis at the Faculty of Medicine submitted by researcher Doctor Hisham Mohamed Shroued, entitled “The effect of the timing of closure of the fecal-ileal shunt after resection of rectal cancer on the quality of life and the patient’s bowel movement” to obtain a master’s degree in general surgery.

Dr. Ahmed El-Kased explained that the aim of the research is to compare the results of early closure and delayed closure of the temporary fecal diversion that is performed after the removal of rectal cancer, noting that the research included 60 patients attending the surgery department at Menoufia University Hospitals, who suffer from rectal cancer and underwent For tumor removal surgery with a temporary fecal diversion.
