The Quality Assurance Unit organizes an introductory meeting on academic advising for Menoufia medical students

Within the framework of the activities of the Quality Assurance Unit in Menoufia Medicine under the patronage and presence of Dr. Mahmoud Kora, Dean of the College, the Unit organized today an introductory meeting on the role of academic guidance for college students, in the presence of Dr. Taher Abdel Sattar, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, and Dr. Amira Fathi Abdel Atti, Acting Director of the Assurance Unit Quality, Dr. Wael Badr Al-Khouli, Coordinator of Academic Advising at the College, Dr. Ahmed Al-Qurash, Director General of University Hospitals, and students of the College.
Dr. Mahmoud Koura, Dean of the College, indicated that the College administration attaches special importance to permanent communication between the faculty member and the student, whether in terms of educational, or psychological aspects, and other matters in which the student may need to refer to experts and those who preceded him in this field. Also, the college administration adopts an open door policy with all the college’s employees, constant communication around the clock, discussing everyone’s suggestions and solving any obstacles they may face.
For her part, Dr. Amira Fathi Abdel-Aty, who is acting director of the Quality Assurance Unit, explained that the aim of this meeting is to introduce the new students to academic advising, in which the students discussed the importance of the role of the academic advisor among the faculty members for the student in terms of developing his skills in time management and organization. As well as developing communication skills, teamwork and communication between the student and the faculty member. The role of the student towards the academic advisor and the importance of his commitment to the group meetings and counseling sessions were also clarified, as they have a positive impact on the student throughout his years of study at the college and constitute full support for the student in all psychological, academic and social fields.
