Clinical Skills Lab in Medicine gets accreditation from the American Heart Association as an accredited international center

Dr. Adel Mubarak, President of Menoufia University, announced that the Clinical Skills Laboratory at the Faculty of Medicine has obtained accreditation from the American Heart Association as an accredited international center for giving basic and advanced CPR courses for adults and children, as well as preparing trainers to give these courses.

Dr. Mahmoud Kora, Dean of the College, indicated that the importance of this accreditation is not only a certificate from the largest medical scientific institution in the world in the field of cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the quality and efficiency of the scientific content provided by the Menoufia College of Medicine to its employees and graduates, but it is a certificate from the largest international center in the quality and efficiency of the administrative system in The Faculty of Medicine, Menoufia University, where three review teams affiliated with the American Heart Association visited the skills lab and reviewed all policies related to the administrative system, quality policies, infection control, training systems, training rooms, assessment and examination systems, and all the equipment required to deliver the courses to ensure the efficiency, comfort and safety of the trainees. That the skills lab and the College of Medicine have all the ingredients required by international standards, and then the skills lab was accredited as an accredited international center to provide these courses.

The skills lab of Menoufia College of Medicine is the first skills lab in Egyptian universities to obtain international accreditation in all CPR courses.

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Marzouk, Director of the Clinical Skills Laboratory at the College, explained that the training courses held by the laboratory to save lives use modern and advanced tools, with the aim of training and enhancing the knowledge of trainees, in addition to developing the skills of health care workers in the fields of resuscitation and basic and advanced cardiovascular care, in cases emergency.

The lab also offers a basic life support course that aims to teach the basic concepts of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, which are the latest in medical science in the field of resuscitation, in order to improve results and increase chances and rates of recovery. This training course also provides realistic simulation and hypothetical scenarios for many cases, In addition to knowing how to perform CPR, and basic life-saving techniques after cardiac arrest.

Another important course offered by the laboratory is the Advanced Cardiac Life Support course, which aims to enhance and build on the skills acquired in the Basic Life Support course, highlighting the importance of high-quality continuous CPR. This course is designed for healthcare professionals and those who deal with Cardiac emergencies, highlighting the importance of communication between medical care teams, as well as monitoring and diagnosing cardiopulmonary arrest, and how to deal with it. This course also highlights health conditions in the post-cardiac arrest stage, as well as heart arrhythmias, stroke, and acute coronary insufficiency.

The laboratory offers a Pediatric Advanced Life Support course, which aims to highlight the importance of following a systematic strategy in evaluating emergency cases in children, by monitoring, diagnosing and treating them correctly. Participants will receive an introduction to Basic Life Support, followed by the foundations of Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and resuscitation skills practices for effective pediatric care. The course is designed for healthcare providers involved in the treatment of respiratory or cardiovascular emergencies, as well as pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest.

There are also Heartsaver courses that aim to teach basic skills and knowledge that will save lives. Participants are given a coherent and consistent experience through realistic scenarios, as well as training in a defibrillator (for the treatment of cardiac arrest).

And finally, the course of assessing, diagnosing and treating pediatric emergencies, which aims to teach participants how to assess, diagnose and treat respiratory emergencies, shocks and cardiopulmonary arrests, and how to carry out appropriate life-saving therapeutic interventions.
