Today, Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, received a committee from the Supreme Council of Universities to evaluate the Oncology Department and Hospital at the Faculty of Medicine and university hospitals in preparation for establishing the Oncology Institute at Menoufia University. The committee included Dr. Mohamed Abdel Moati, Dean of the Oncology Institute, Dr. Ola Khorshid, Head of the Oncology Department at the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, and Dr. Yousry. Rostom, Head of the Oncology Department at Alexandria Medicine, in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Sabry, Executive Director of University Hospitals, and Dr. Mohamed Abu Al-Futouh, Head of the Oncology Department.


Dr. Ahmed El-Kased indicated that the committee will write the final report to be presented to the Supreme Council of Universities to approve the establishment of the Oncology Institute, stressing that the establishment of the institute will add a large edifice that will join the university’s medical system to serve the people of the region and reduce the psychological and material burden of the people of the governorate and neighboring governorates, due to the increase in The number of visitors to the current oncology hospital, adding that the oncology hospital has the responsibility of providing diagnostic and therapeutic services to the people of the governorate and the governorates of Central Delta.


The University President explained that the University Council had approved the establishment of the Oncology Institute at the university to be an integrated therapeutic and research institute for treating oncology patients and serving the research process. He pointed out that expansions of the western wing of the Oncology Hospital were recently opened, bringing the total number of beds to 80 beds, in addition to owning a state-of-the-art Oncology Hospital. El-Kased added that university hospitals have begun their preparations to obtain accreditation from the National Authority for Health Accreditation and Control after applying the required standards, in preparation for university hospitals and the National Liver Institute Hospital to enter the comprehensive health insurance system by the year 2026, in accordance with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and to achieve the goals of Egypt’s Vision 2030. .
