Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, participated in the meeting of the Supreme Council for Educational Affairs under the patronage of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and headed by Dr. Mostafa Refaat, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, and in the presence of a number of university presidents, and members of the Council who are vice presidents of universities for educational affairs. And students, at the headquarters of the Secretariat of the Supreme Council of Universities at Cairo University.

Dr. Ahmed El-Kased indicated that the meeting discussed many important topics, including the formation of a committee to implement the recommendations of enabling students with disabilities to enroll in universities and the importance of joint cooperation between the Supreme Council of Universities and the British Council in the field of education, in addition to how to benefit from graduates of the College of Disability and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University. Adding that Dr. Mustafa Refaat congratulated the university and academic community; On the occasion of the start of the second semester, he wished Egyptian universities a successful academic year, stressing the need to pay attention to the proper conduct of the educational process, and work to qualify students and provide them with the skills required for the labor market.

El-Kased added that the meeting reviewed the challenges and procedures necessary to enable students with disabilities to meet in public university colleges, and highlighted the problems specific to these students.

The meeting also reviewed the services provided by the Council, and the mechanisms for Egyptian universities to benefit from them and meet their needs, in light of the memorandum of understanding signed by the Supreme Council of Universities and the British Council, which focuses on joint cooperation in the field of education, English language assessments, commitment to enhancing the quality of education, and supporting Egyptian universities.

El-Kased stressed that the Council recommended seeking the assistance of graduates of the Faculty of Disability and Rehabilitation Sciences at Zagazig University to deal with disabled students in universities, while creating opportunities to employ specialists among them and benefit from their experience.

The Council was also informed of the summit activities scheduled to be held during the coming period, with the participation of Egyptian public universities, and the letter of the Deputy Minister of Health and Population for Population Affairs, to which a copy of the National Population and Development Strategy 2023-2030 was attached.
