Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University and President of Menoufia University, chaired the meeting of the university’s Supreme Committee for Computers and Information, in the presence of Dr. Sobhi Sharaf, President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Hazem Saleh, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Dr. Hatem Sayed Ahmed, Dr. Hassan Aliwa, and Dr. Osama Abdel Raouf, Deans of the Faculties of Computers, Information, Science, and Artificial Intelligence, the Executive Director of University Information, and Engineer Shaaban Mansour, General Director of the Information Center.


Dr. Ahmed El-Kased stressed the importance of the committee, its direction, and the importance of activating its role, noting that the meeting discussed the implementation of the comprehensive plan to digitize the university, which includes a vision for the status of information technology in it that is compatible with educational and administrative requirements in light of the electronic management of institutions, and its connection to electronic services in the rest of the university’s institutions.


El-Kased directed the need to develop a vision for transforming into a digital university in a scientific manner according to institutional collective work and to benefit from the university’s cadres specialized in the faculties of computers, information, artificial intelligence, engineering and science, in addition to the necessity of setting a timetable for implementing infrastructure and applications, and supporting the initiatives of Egypt’s digital generations.


El-Kased pointed out that the meeting dealt with presenting the percentage of completion in establishing the university’s electronic portal (Portal), in addition to discussing what is required to complete the work of the electronic portal and determine its directions.


The meeting also discussed the memorandum submitted by the university’s Executive Director of Information regarding concluding a joint cooperation agreement between Menoufia University and the Middle East Company, headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to use (Odoo) applications to create university resource management (ERP) applications.


The meeting also reviewed the position of uploading data for the university’s global classification, the possibility of transferring the headquarters of the graduate studies system from the College of Science to the general administration of the university, and the position of supplying the electricity generator to the university administration and its importance and impact on the contents of the university’s main data center.


The meeting discussed the current situation in receiving the wireless network in university cities and the trial operation of the network to serve students in university cities, which number 8 cities, with the need to increase the capacity of local connection circuits to the College of Electronic Engineering, the College of Physical Education, and the College of Home Economics.


The minutes of the first session were also approved.
