Dr. Ahmed El-Kased , President of Menoufia University, received the university’s certificate of honor for its advancement in the Arab classification. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, honored Menoufia University and a number of Egyptian and Arab universities that were included in the first Arab classification of universities, during the opening of the 14th session of the forum. And the International Exhibition for Higher Education and Training EduGate, whose activities continue over the course of a week, starting from Thursday 22nd until February 29th of this month, in the presence of Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, and Dr. Ali Shams El-Din, former President of Banha University, and Chairman of the International Education Forum and Exhibition. Higher Education and Training EduGat, Ambassador Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Dr. Muhammad Mustafa Kamal, representative of the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), and Dr. Abdel Majeed bin Amara, Secretary-General of the Union of Scientific Research Councils.


Dr. Ahmed El-Kased , President of Menoufia University, pointed out the university’s progress in the Arab classification of universities for the year 2023, as the university ranked eighth at the level of Egyptian universities, and nineteenth at the level of Arab universities out of a total of 115 Arab universities that were evaluated this year.


The University President thanked the Minister of Higher Education and those responsible for the Arab classification of universities, which is implemented by the Association of Arab Universities in cooperation with the League of Arab States and the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), noting that the classification contains a set of indicators covering all scientific, academic and research aspects, including “quality of education.” teaching, scientific research, innovations, international and local cooperation, and community service,” adding that this classification will contribute to strengthening the position of Arab universities in international rankings and will provide the opportunity for universities to conduct benchmark comparisons in addition to enhancing the competitiveness of Arab universities to reach the level of international universities.


El-Kased also stressed the university’s interest in implementing the mandates of the political leadership to raise the university’s ranking in international classifications, in addition to the university’s endeavor to implement the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education in applying the principle of international reference, which the ministry launched in March 2023, adding that the university established an office for international classifications and research innovation that aims to Placing Menoufia University among the ranks of international universities.


Dr. Ahmed El-Kased explained that the activities of the forum began with a ceremony for distributing certificates for the first edition of the Arab Classification of Universities 2023, within the framework of the keenness to encourage Egyptian and Arab universities to continue providing high-quality education that complies with international standards and competes globally in various sectors and specializations, and contributes to the development of Arab societies. Pointing out that the honor included 28 Egyptian universities, listed in the Arab classification in its first edition, in light of the development and challenges witnessed by the higher education system and Egyptian universities, and the keenness to provide all means of support in order to achieve educational leadership and global quality in various Egyptian public or private universities. Or eligibility or technology.


The events witnessed wide participation from Egyptian, Arab and international universities, as about 100 Egyptian, Arab and international universities will announce the educational opportunities available in them and their new educational programmes. Representatives of hundreds of European and American universities will also be represented to showcase international education opportunities and the latest global developments in study systems and specialisations. The session also witnesses Universities from 20 countries participated, including the United States of America, represented by its embassies in Cairo, England, Spain, India, Malaysia, Turkey, France, and others.
