Active participation of Menoufia University students in the 12th Arab-African Youth Forum on climate change and its impact on food and water security

Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, the university participated in the activities of the 12th Arab-African Youth Forum on climate change and its impact on food security and Arab water security between the cities of Aswan and Luxor, which is held under the patronage of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth.


Dr. Ahmed El-Kased indicated that Menoufia University had participated with a delegation consisting of 6 students who actively participated in the activities of the forum, which discussed important topics about water and food security in the Arab region and the extent of the climate impact on the savings of the Arab region and its impact on the local and international economy.


Dr. Ahmed El-Kased added that Menoufia University participated in the opening of the forum’s work at the Roman Theater in New Aswan, where the forum constitutes a regional platform for reviewing and exchanging experiences among young people to achieve sustainable development goals and discuss the results of the Cop28 climate conference in Dubai.


The forum addressed the recommendations made on the ground by the Council of the Arab Ministries of Water and Environment, and the recommendations of the Youth Forum held recently by the League of Arab States in raising pressing issues and finding solutions that can be applied and are compatible with the changes taking place in the region.


The forum also witnessed the participation of young people in implementing a symbolic campaign about plastic bags, in addition to implementing a group of activities to educate youth and plant trees in the tree forest in Luxor, in addition to implementing an entertainment tourism program.


The university delegation participated under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Jamil Shaheen, Director General of the General Administration for Youth Welfare at the University and the supervision of Dr. Walid Hussein Talaat, Director of the Mobile and Public Service Department and Coordinator of the UNESCO Central Cultural Club at the University. The delegation was accompanied by Marwa Hani.
