Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, reviewed the future prospects and ways to improve the medical service for those attending the medical complex, stressing that university hospitals and the National Liver Institute are among the most important foundations in providing distinguished health service to the people of Menoufia Governorate and neighboring governorates, as university hospitals provide an integrated treatment system based on expertise. Faculty members keep pace with scientific and technological development in diagnostic and treatment methods, family medicine programs and infection control, stressing that the university continues to implement its future plan to expand the complex and add new medical services.


This came during an expanded meeting held by the University President at university hospitals, in the presence of Dr. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Hazem Saleh, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Dr. Nasser Abdel Bari, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Al-Nomani, Dean of the College of Medicine, and Dr. Hani Abdel Majeed, Dean of the National Liver Institute, deans of the College of Medicine and the Liver Institute, Dr. Mohamed Sabry, Executive Director of University Hospitals, Dr. Osama Hegazy, Executive Director of the National Liver Institute Hospital, directors of university hospitals, and the Liver Institute Hospital.


Dr. Ahmed El-Kased thanked the attendees and the medical service providers in the university’s various medical units. He also expressed his happiness at his presence in the university hospitals and the medical complex, stressing that the university hospitals are on their way to accreditation and entering the comprehensive medical insurance system, which requires that there be more capabilities in the university hospitals and greater effort and teamwork. Integrated, adding that the university hospitals and the Liver Institute Hospital provide a distinguished treatment service to the people of the governorate and are distinguished by the presence of a large number of beds and specialized and qualitative services that are unique to them.


The university president said that we must prepare well and that everyone must be highly responsible to always achieve the best. We are proud of university hospitals, which are the university’s face to the outside community. There must also be a clear vision for the university, stressing that we have an ambitious plan from the beginning and in pursuit of Always to achieve the dream of expanding the university hospitals and the medical complex and establishing the new medical city. The dream has been fulfilled by purchasing five acres adjacent to the medical complex to establish the city for which a vision was drawn up and serious steps were taken towards its establishment in stages, with the support of the loyal people of the governorate.


The university president said that we are now seeking to increase the area of the medical complex by adding another adjacent piece of land to achieve maximum benefit from it in the future to increase the medical services provided and expand the complex. This is in addition to trying to restructure the medical facilities and achieve the necessary expansion of these facilities, especially the building of the College of Nursing, which is an important part. In providing medical and awareness services in the governorate, the university seeks to find alternatives to expand the College of Nursing, adding that the establishment of a nursing institute has been completed in the village of Manshiet Sultan, next to Manshiet Sultan University Hospital, to provide trained nursing technicians to improve the medical service provided in university hospitals, in addition to that the university has made great strides towards establishing an institute. Oncology as a therapeutic and research institute that presents new things in the treatment of oncology, pointing out that the Oncology Department at university hospitals is one of the departments that has many capabilities and has been unique in providing medical service to oncology patients over a period of 20 years in the governorate and the three neighboring governorates.


El-Kased also praised the role played by the Liver Institute in caring for liver patients and participating in the state’s national campaigns, stressing that the Institute is performing its role to the fullest extent, explaining that new foundations for liver transplant operations have been laid at the Institute and will return in the coming period in a strong manner, indicating that the Institute is the place He is the only one who has two licenses at the same time for liver transplantation for adults and children. He added that establishing a kidney transplant unit in university hospitals is a fundamental goal of the university’s medical service system and a priority topic that will be activated soon.


El-Kased also stressed that quality must be a way of life in working at the university and university hospitals, and we must identify the strengths and weaknesses and develop a plan for reform and continuous follow-up, and that quality should be a way of life and a habit and routine in all aspects of life and work, stressing that development will not take place except with the help of loyal workers and the presence of desire and enthusiasm. Leaders must provide permanent support to the distinguished, and establish good systems to reduce errors and give an opportunity to the innovators through a clear system, indicating that Egypt is moving on steady steps and keeping pace with the development occurring in the provision of health services in the world.
