Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, chaired a meeting of the committee responsible for organizing the University’s 49th anniversary celebrations. The meeting was attended by Prof. Ghada Hassan, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Ms. Souad Bayoumi, Secretary-General of the University; assistant secretaries; and committee members responsible for planning and logistics.
During the meeting, Prof. El-Kased emphasized the special significance of this year’s celebration as it commemorates a distinguished 49-year history, noting that the meeting aimed to follow up on all preparations and organizational arrangements to ensure that the events reflect the University’s prestige and leadership.
The University President announced that the celebrations will span two days: Tuesday, 24 December, and Sunday, 27 December, at the Grand Hall of the Theoretical Complex of Faculties, allowing for a comprehensive program celebrating the University’s achievements and legacy.
Prof. El-Kased directed full coordination between all University departments and faculties, highlighting the importance of student participation in preparations as essential partners in the success of the celebrations and in fostering university belonging.
He confirmed that the anniversary program will be institutionally comprehensive, including a detailed presentation of the University’s achievements over the past year, extensive recognition ceremonies for top students, distinguished faculty members, and administrative staff. The program will also honor faculty and administrative personnel who have reached the retirement age, in appreciation of their dedicated service.
Furthermore, the celebrations will include awards for University faculty members who have received national awards, administrative staff earning doctoral degrees in their respective fields, and posthumous tributes to faculty and staff who passed away during the year, honoring their contributions.
To support academic excellence, Prof. El-Kased announced that the faculty with the highest scientific output will be recognized, along with faculty members with the most internationally published research papers, patent holders, and those with the best academic theses at the University level.
The University President stressed that recognition is a well-established tradition at Menoufia University, serving to motivate high achievers and foster positive competition. He expressed his appreciation for all who have contributed to the University’s growth and looked forward to a celebration that reflects the institution’s history and aspirations for a more prosperous future.
