Cairo University honored Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, during its 20th annual Science Day celebration, held this evening in the presence of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development Affairs and Minister of Health and Population; Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Dr. Hala El-Said, Presidential Advisor for Economic Development and former Minister of Planning and Economic Development; Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel-Sadek, President of Cairo University; Dr. Mostafa Rifaat, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities; as well as governors, senior state officials, university presidents, ministry leaders, prominent academics, and leading faculty members.
During the event, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research delivered a speech on the ministry’s efforts to enhance quality of higher education, emphasizing the strategic plans to improve university standards according to the latest international benchmarks. He highlighted the ministry’s focus on academic accreditation, infrastructure enhancement, digital transformation, and the provision of an advanced educational and research environment for students and faculty. The minister also praised Cairo University’s prestigious standing, noting it as one of the region’s largest and most esteemed academic institutions, nurturing a large number of scholars, thinkers, and researchers.
The ceremony recognized a distinguished group of scholars and researchers, as well as university presidents from public, private, and national universities who are alumni of Cairo University. Among the honorees was Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, in recognition of his scientific and academic contributions and his exceptional efforts in advancing higher education and research.
