The Liver Transplant Team at the National Liver Institute Holds Its Regular Meeting to Follow Up on Preparations for New Cases

The Liver Transplant Team at the National Liver Institute held an extensive technical meeting chaired by the Transplant Scientific Committee to discuss and evaluate the condition of patients currently being prepared within the Liver Transplant Unit, in preparation for conducting surgical procedures during the upcoming period, as part of the Institute’s continuous efforts to provide the highest level of medical care for liver patients.

The meeting included a comprehensive review of all medical reports, laboratory tests, and radiological examinations related to both patients and donors, to ensure compliance with all international medical standards adopted by the Institute in its liver transplantation programs. Discussions also focused on overcoming all logistical and medical challenges to achieve the highest possible success rates.

Dr. Osama Hegazy, Dean of the National Liver Institute, stated:
“The Liver Transplant Unit at the Institute represents a comprehensive national medical center operating according to the latest international protocols. Patient safety and quality of life after surgery remain our top priorities. These regular team meetings are held to ensure the utmost accuracy in selecting and preparing cases, as part of the Institute’s commitment to its pioneering role in combating liver diseases and alleviating patients’ suffering, with full support from the university administration and the state.”

Dr. Hegazy added:
“We are proud to have one of the largest and oldest liver transplant programs in the region, supported by a distinguished team of specialized physicians and nursing staff who have achieved remarkable success in this highly specialized field. This has made the Institute a destination of choice not only for patients from across Egypt, but also from various Arab and African countries.”
