Menoufia University Hosts Specialized Workshops on Global Standards to Strengthen Health Integration at the International Conference of the University Oncology Institute

Under the patronage of Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, a series of specialized scientific workshops were held alongside the first annual international conference of the University Oncology Institute on 26–27 March 2026. The workshops brought together leading oncology experts and professors to facilitate knowledge exchange and keep pace with the latest advancements in cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Prof. El-Kased highlighted that these specialized workshops reflect Egypt’s commitment to investing in human resources and enhancing the skills of medical personnel. He emphasized that the university aims to link scientific research with practical applications to meet societal needs, and to strengthen partnerships with local and international medical institutions to adopt cutting-edge treatment protocols. This supports the institute’s position as a leading medical and scientific center providing advanced oncology services according to the highest quality standards.

Prof. El-Kased also stressed that the workshops are part of the university’s efforts to support research and develop the healthcare system, providing a valuable platform for doctors and researchers from diverse disciplines to exchange expertise.

Prof. Ahmed Sabry, Dean of the institute and conference chair, noted that the workshops were carefully designed to cover the most important modern topics in oncology, providing practical training and facilitating experience exchange to enhance doctors’ competencies and the quality of patient care.

Prof. Mohamed Abu El-Fotouh, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Professor of Oncology, explained that the workshops include sessions on interventional radiotherapy for prostate cancer, reviewing the latest techniques and treatment outcomes. Other workshops cover clinical guidelines for specialized medical councils, state-funded treatment systems, and simulation-based training programs aligned with international radiotherapy protocols, enabling their local application.

Dr. Shaimaa Mahmoud, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies, highlighted workshops on the Presidential Initiative for Women’s Health and Breast Cancer, which present results, challenges, and strategies to enhance integration across primary care centers, referral hospitals, Ministry of Health facilities, university hospitals, and institutes under the Ministry of Higher Education.

Dr. Mohamed Senbawy, Director of the institute’s hospital and conference coordinator, noted strong participation due to the advanced scientific and practical content. The workshops aim to integrate multiple medical specialties and foster collaboration among local and international health institutions, positively impacting both clinical services and oncology research.

The conference was chaired by Prof. Ahmed Sabry, with participation from academic and medical leaders, including Dr. Shaimaa Mahmoud, Dr. Hassan Metwally, Prof. Mohamed Abu El-Fotouh, and Dr. Mohamed Senbawy, ensuring comprehensive scientific and administrative oversight.
