The Institute among the best centers in the world in the application of new treatment methods for liver donors

Modern scientific study by the researcher Sameh Hamdi Badr , at the Department of Surgery , National Liver institute ,Menoufia University,  got by it the master's degree explained that the liver Institute among the best global surgical centers and institutes that at least with complications of Donor rate portion of the liver, the thesis  entitled "The use of gradient system" Klivian "and its amendments for donor following remove a portion of the liver during liver transplant from a living donor surgery. "Dr. Maher Othman, Professor of Surgery at the Institute and the inner arbitrator for the study confirmed that the study is the latest studies used the global gradient "Klivian" system which  searching and assessing the quality of complications for the live donor after excision directly to identify it and therefore develop a plan for treatment immediately, and also the study play an effective role  in the evaluation and comparison of results between different surgeons and surgical centers locally and globally.

Dr. Hisham Abdel Dayem , professor of surgery and vice dean of National liver Institute for Graduate Studies and Research ,  Menoufia University and the supervisor of the thesis also pointed that the results reached by the researcher has shown that the Liver Institute at Menoufia University comes within the world's best surgical centers to reduce the complication rate for donors with portion of the liver, comparable to that advanced centers of liver transplant operations in the United States and Europe, and the most important of these complications: complications of anesthesia, respiratory tract infections, surgical infections caused by the eradication of approximately 60 to 65% of the size of the liver.

 

Dr. Khaled Zaki Mansour , Professor of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University – arbitrator  of the thesis  - said that this study is useful for researchers in surgery and liver transplantation to know what are the best centers that use modern remedies, which would reduce - and even eliminate on any complications may occur for the donor after  the operation .

 

The researcher Sameh Hamdi refers in his study that there are two important conditions should stick to them when taking the operation  to eradicate part of the liver of a living donor for someone else suffer from cirrhosis, namely: to ensure maximum safety possible to donate by reducing the incidence of complications and avoid the occurrence of any deaths. Renewal of the optimal part of the liver which is available for planting.
