Menoufia University President Honors Winning Faculties in Environmental Excellence Competition

Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, Prof. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Nasser Abdel-Bari, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Ekramy Gamal, Secretary-General of the University, honored the winning faculties in the Environmental Excellence Competition, organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector.

The results showed that the National Liver Institute, the Faculty of Early Childhood Education, the Faculty of Dentistry, and the Faculty of Home Economics won first place. The Faculty of Artificial Intelligence, the Faculty of Science, and the Faculty of Nursing came in second place. The Faculty of Computers and Information, the Faculty of Agriculture, the Faculty of Specific Education, and the Faculty of Commerce won third place. Certificates of appreciation were received by the deans and vice deans of the winning faculties for community service and environmental development.

The University President congratulated the winning colleges in the competition, expressing his thanks to all those who organized the competition. He also extended special thanks to all the winning colleges for their commitment to implementing all necessary criteria for winning this important competition, which is a significant initiative to promote environmental awareness and achieve sustainability within colleges, especially in light of global environmental challenges such as climate change, resource scarcity, and pollution. He also emphasized the importance of enhancing environmental awareness among students, faculty members, and staff, and spreading a culture of environmental responsibility among them. He emphasized that the Environmental Excellence Competition is not just a competition, but a practical step toward building an environmentally aware generation capable of facing future challenges, thus contributing to achieving comprehensive sustainable development.

Prof. Sobhi Sharaf emphasized that organizing this competition periodically aims to encourage an understanding of various environmental challenges, foster a spirit of cooperation and belonging among students, encourage innovation and creativity in solving environmental problems, and encourage the implementation of environmentally friendly projects such as recycling, rationalizing energy and water consumption, and using renewable energy sources. This aims to transform colleges into models of environmental sustainability, contributing to the creation of a healthy and clean university environment.
