El-Kased: Announces the Accreditation of the Stroke Unit at Menoufia University Hospitals as a Primary Center by the World Stroke Organization

Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, announced the accreditation of the Stroke Unit in the Department of Neurology at the University Hospitals as a Primary Center by the World Stroke Organization. He explained that with this accreditation, the World Stroke Organization recognizes that the Stroke Unit at the Faculty of Medicine at Menoufia University is a unit that follows the latest international systems in terms of the necessary infrastructure for treating stroke cases, the presence of trained personnel to diagnose, treat, and monitor these cases, adherence to the latest international protocols of the organization in treating these cases, and the publication of medical research related to stroke cases at the unit within all international forums affiliated with the World Stroke Organization.

Prof. Ahmed El-Kased pointed out that the unit's accreditation came after it passed a comprehensive field evaluation by a specialized international committee, according to precise standards for providing healthcare to stroke patients. He added that the department submitted a comprehensive scientific file, followed by a field visit that covered all stages of case management, from emergency admissions through diagnosis using advanced radiology equipment, to treatment options, including thrombolysis or cerebral catheterization intervention, in addition to medical and functional rehabilitation programs provided to patients after the acute treatment phase.

Prof. Ahmed El-Kased congratulated the Department of Neurology, the unit's staff, the university staff, and the university hospitals, emphasizing Menoufia University's commitment to providing comprehensive medical services to patients and the governorate's residents, utilizing the latest treatment technologies in the world.

For his part, Dr. Muhammad Fahmi Al-Noamani, Dean of the College of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hospitals, emphasized that this accreditation represents an important milestone in the development of medical performance within university hospitals. It embodies the fruits of the efforts made over the past period to advance medical services in accordance with internationally recognized standards.

The Dean of the College also extended his sincere congratulations to the Department of Neurology, headed by Dr. Aktham Al-Imam, and to the faculty members, assistant staff, resident physicians, and nursing staff.

He praised the competence of the medical team and the spirit of organized institutional teamwork in serving patients according to the highest standards of quality and humane care.
