Under the patronage of Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, and the supervision of Prof. Nasser Abdel-Bary, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, 26 teams from Menoufia University are participating in the 25th edition of the Egyptian Collegiate Programming Contest (ECPC), hosted by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport. The competition is organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Innovators Support Fund at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The ECPC is one of the most prestigious and largest international programming competitions. This year’s contests are being held at the Academy’s main campus in Abu Qir, with the participation of public, private, and national Egyptian universities. Winning teams from the ECPC will qualify for the Arab–African Collegiate Programming Championship, which in turn qualifies for the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC).

Prof. El-Kased stressed the university’s commitment to encouraging students to participate in local and international scientific, technological, and cultural competitions, including this contest, which aims to enhance students’ programming efficiency, problem-solving skills, and technical abilities to keep pace with advances in technology — the language of the modern age. He emphasized that programming has become an essential skill in today’s world, greatly improving chances of success and providing a significant competitive edge in the job market. He reaffirmed his full support for and encouragement of student teams participating in competitions at the local, regional, and international levels across various fields.

Prof. El-Kased noted that Menoufia University’s participation includes 26 teams comprising 78 students from different faculties: 41 students from the Faculty of Computers and Information, 22 students from the Faculty of Electronic Engineering, 9 students from the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence, 5 students from the Faculty of Science, and 1 student from the Faculty of Engineering.

The teams are accompanied by Prof. Hatem Sayed Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information and Supervisor of the University Information Center; Prof. Hiyam Moussa, Professor at the Faculty of Computers and Information; along with trainers from the faculty.
