President of Menoufia University Chairs Quality Assurance Meeting to Follow Up on the Progress of Faculties Applying for Institutional Accreditation 2025

Today, Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, chaired the University’s Quality Assurance and Periodic Accreditation Meeting to review the latest developments regarding the progress of accreditation files of the faculties applying for institutional accreditation during the current academic year 2025, and to discuss mechanisms for applying the approved standards required for qualifying the University’s faculties.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Nasser Abdel-Bary, Vice President for Education and Students’ Affairs; Prof. Wafaa Zahran, Director of the Quality Assurance Center; Dr. Ekramy Gamal, University Secretary-General; Prof. Zeinab Abdel-Khaleq, Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Noha Osman, Assistant Professor at the Department of Library and Information Science, Faculty of Arts, and Deputy Director of the Quality Assurance Center; and Ms. Asmaa Refaat, Administrative Manager of the Center.

Prof. El-Kased, who also supervises the University’s Quality Assurance Center, discussed the status of the faculties applying for institutional accreditation, the mechanisms for implementing the standards of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation, and the extent to which the submitted files meet the requirements for institutional accreditation of Egyptian universities.

The meeting also addressed the procedures already undertaken by faculties that obtained program accreditation, as well as the plans submitted for accrediting additional programs aligned with the needs of the local and international labor market. Innovative solutions to overcome potential challenges in achieving institutional accreditation for Menoufia University were also reviewed.

The University President stressed the importance of regularly following up with faculties that have already obtained accreditation, assessing the quality of their submitted files in accordance with accreditation standards, and studying the planning criteria for higher education institutions. He emphasized the need for a strategic planning methodology, the development of an executive plan to achieve strategic objectives, and the establishment of performance indicators to monitor progress. Prof. El-Kased further underscored the importance of overcoming obstacles and translating strategic goals into practical activities.

He also highlighted the University’s strong commitment to promoting continuous awareness of quality standards and educational excellence, aiming to achieve tangible improvement in the educational process. This includes the continuous development of curricula, as well as enhancing the capabilities of faculty members and teaching assistants. Prof. El-Kased affirmed the need to intensify the efforts of the Quality Assurance Center to support faculties in applying to the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation for both institutional and programmatic accreditation.

Finally, Prof. El-Kased called on the supervisors of the Quality Assurance Center to hold regular meetings with those responsible for quality files at the faculties, prepare periodic reports on the current status of accreditation files, follow up on the requirements issued by the Accreditation Authority, and ensure continuous monitoring of the activation of alumni units and academic advising within the faculties.
