Under the slogan “We are able to differ,” the Faculty of Information, Menoufia University, held a ceremony to honor people with abilities and determination on the occasion of the International Day of People with Disabilities, which included some students of determination from Menoufia and Benha Universities.

The ceremony was held under the patronage of Dr. Adel Mubarak, President of the University, Dr. Abdel-Gawad Saeed Rabie, Dean of the College, and Dr. Nadia Al-Qadi, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, in the presence of Dr. El-Sayed El-Saeed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Mohamed Shawky, Director General of the College, under the supervision and organization of the Youth Welfare Department Led by Ms. Abeer Al-Toukhi, Director of the Administration and the College Student Union.

Dr. Abdel-Gawad Saeed opened the activities of the ceremony, pointing to the keenness of the President of the Republic to meet the People of Determination annually, and to take from his words a true translation on the ground of good treatment, attention and care, and the keenness to hold this day stems from the keenness of Prof. Linking the university to the various groups of society, providing the appropriate community service for each category, and providing full support and encouraging them to achieve achievement and challenge the difficulties.

El-Sayed El-Saeed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, explained that the concept of dealing with people of determination is a culture that we must contribute to spreading in Egyptian society, stressing that there are many misconceptions spread among members of society, explaining that disability is in the place and not in the individual, so using the means Assistance replaces disability, and he stressed the importance of respecting the abilities of people of determination and not making excessive offers to help in their daily work that they can practice.

The community service sector is also coordinating the efforts of all university sectors and external parties to support students and transform the university environment to suit the uses of students with their various needs, to practice their lives more effectively.

Ahmed Talaat, the student in the second year, and a hero of the college’s heroes of determination gave a speech to the audience in which he stressed that our differences are one of the secrets of our existence on earth and that in life we ​​are different, defying difficulties, determined and complemented by our will with the support of the state.

The ceremony concluded with honoring the champions of the challenge in appreciation of their excellence.
