Dr. Nancy Asaad, Vice President of Menoufia University for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Mahmoud Koura, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, on behalf of Dr. Adel Mubarak, President of the University, inaugurated the activities of the Seventh Conference on Hepatology and Gastroenterology, Faculty of Medicine, Menoufia University, in the presence of Dr. El-Sawy, Director of the Central Administration of University Hospitals, Dr. Hussein Nada, President of the Physicians Syndicate, members of the House of Representatives and Senate, and a large number of professors of internal medicine, gastroenterology, liver and surgery at the Faculty of Medicine, the Liver Institute, Egyptian universities and the Ministry of Health

The Dean of the College welcomed the attendance of the conference and praised the Department of Internal Medicine at the College of Medicine and the medical services provided by its various units to patients, pointing out that the Menoufia University Medical City, to be established on an area of ​​5 acres, will include 9 specialized medical centers, in addition to raising the capacity of university hospitals from 1000 to 3500 beds. The conference made important recommendations

Dr. Sayed Al-Shayeb, Head of the Unit of the Intestinal System and Diagnostic Unit and Head of the Conference, indicated that the conference discussed, through 5 scientific sessions and 30 lectures, the new in the treatment of liver diseases, liver surgery, digestive system, gastrointestinal tumor surgery and gastrointestinal endoscopy. The new in liver endoscopy with ultrasound and small intestine endoscopy, and a live broadcast was transferred from the endoscopy unit of Menoufia University Hospital to the conference hall to train young doctors.

Dr. Abdel Nasser Gadallah, the conference’s rapporteur, added that the conference presented difficult clinical cases that were treated in the department and the endoscopy unit, explaining that workshops were held in the endoscopy unit, which were transferred to attend the conference, during which 6 different endoscopic cases were made, including an ultrasound endoscope to remove a cyst on the pancreas and an endoscope To remove a pancreatic tumor and endoscopy of the bile ducts, and expand the opening of the bile ducts with a balloon, and the case of an endoscopy and an ulcerative colonoscopy
