The Menoufia University football team was able to defeat its counterpart, Port Said, with a free goal, within the framework of the second round of the sports tournament for universities and higher institutes, in which the Menoufia University team participates, under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of the University. Dr. Nancy Asaad, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and general supervision, Dr. Mohamed Shaheen, Director General of the General Administration for Student Welfare.

The winning goal for Menoufia University was scored by player Adham Zayed, from a pass by his colleague Hassan Ammar, in the 82nd minute of the match.

The team list includes: Muhammad Fathi, Ahmed Al-Sharqawi, Youssef Saleh, Mahmoud Asr, Ahmed Al-Saidi, Muhammad Wael, Hussam Abbas, Marwan Haitham, Hassan Ammar, Moselhi Swailem, Abdullah Yasser, Youssef Al-Karneeb, Youssef Mahmoud, Nabawi Muhammad, Hazem Hamdi, Adham Zayed, Ziad Tamraz and Youssef Al-Iraqi.

The Menoufia University team is led by a technical staff consisting of Captain Yasser Gamal, Director of Sports Activity, Captain Wassal Al-Qot, Captain Ammar Zulfiqar, Captain Khaled Tolba, and Captain Ali Al-Sayed, the team supervisor.

Menoufia University had previously tied in the previous round against the Suez Canal University team without goals at Menoufia University Stadium, thus raising the balance of Menoufia University to 4 points.

It is scheduled that Menoufia University will host the Zagazig University team on Wednesday, February 22, in the third round, then the Menoufia University team will be a guest on its counterpart, the Mansoura University team, on Monday, February 27.

The fifth round will witness the match between Menoufia University and Tanta University on Tuesday, March 7 in Menoufia, and in the sixth round, with Beni Suef in Upper Egypt, on Thursday, March 15, and in conclusion, the Menoufia University team will meet the Arab Academy team on Monday, March 20.
