Today, Dr. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, participated in the meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities, which was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in the presence of Dr. Mostafa Refaat, Secretary of the Council and members of the Council, at the headquarters of Luxor University.

El-Kased Ali confirmed that the council discussed the launch of the national strategy for higher education and scientific research next March 7, and the preparation of an electronic system to facilitate the procedures for applying for promotions of faculty members in Egyptian universities, higher institutes and research centers.

Adding that the Minister of Higher Education stressed during the meeting the need to intensify medical, veterinary and agricultural convoys in all governorates in cooperation with the "Decent Life" initiative and to increase the efforts of universities in eradicating illiteracy in cooperation with the General Authority for Adult Education and directing scientific research to deal with the challenges facing the governorates as discussed by the Council A number of university files

El-Kased referred to the minister's directives to follow up the implementation of all research plans presented by the vice presidents of universities for postgraduate studies and research, to meet the various challenges facing the Egyptian society in all economic, social, health and environmental fields in all governorates, and to activate the role of scientific research in facing the population issue, supporting the health system, and reducing pollution of the environment, air, water and soil, desalination of sea water, reduction of soil salinity, use of renewable energy, use of modern irrigation methods and increase production of strategic agricultural crops.

The President of Menoufia University added that the Minister of Higher Education commended the inclusion of 14 Egyptian universities in the British QS ranking of universities for the year 2023, which includes the ranking of the best 1,500 universities in the world. for the year 2023, which includes a ranking of more than 31,000 higher education institutions around the world. The minister directed that universities should continue to provide support to researchers to increase scientific publication in international journals

El-Kased announced that the council agreed to change the name of the Faculty of Commerce, Menoufia University, to become the "Faculty of Business" of Menoufia University
