Menoufia University recommends preparing studies on the outputs of COP27 and linking them to the goals of Egypt's 2050 strategy on the closing day of the festival

Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, received the delegation participating in the scientific sessions on climate change and activating the outcomes of the COP27 Climate Summit, in the presence of Dr. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, which included Dr. Hussein Abaza, Advisor to the Ministry of Planning and the Ministry of Environment, member of the National Committee for Nature Conservation and Natural Resources, and Dr. Ahmed Hegazy, Chairman of the National Committee for Natural Resources and Advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Dr. Wagidah Anwar, President of the Qualitative Union of Scientific Societies and the Academy of Scientific Research and former Advisor to the Minister of Health, Dr. Muhammad Abd Rabbo, Director of the Central Climate Laboratory at the Ministry of Agriculture, and Dr. Amira Hossam, Assistant Minister of Planning for Sustainable Development Affairs.


 El-Kased stressed that the study of climate change is one of the most important goals of sustainable development directly and indirectly affecting the rest of the goals of sustainable development. Therefore, Egypt paid special attention to it by hosting the COP27 Climate Conference. Studies and research on the outputs of COP27 and linking them to the goals of Egypt's 2050 strategy related to confronting climate change.


For his part, Sharaf indicated that education is the driver of development, so placing it at the forefront of the agenda of all international and regional meetings is imperative, and climate action has become one of the goals of sustainable development, stressing the importance of the role of universities in organizing awareness campaigns about climate change and ways to confront and deal with it. And conducting workshops between various universities to present initiatives that support the efforts of the state


The scientific sessions dealt with the most important causes of climate change and how to implement the outcomes of the Climate Conference in its 27th edition. We begin to implement and not stop at the recommendations and the impact of climate changes on the agricultural sector and food security in the region, political and developmental affairs in light of climate changes and the health dimension of the risks of climate change and activate the activities of the Be initiative. Ambassador of sustainable development in Menoufia Governorate, and how to get out of the stage of studying solutions and reach the stage of implementation and face the challenges facing all sectors and study scenarios of economic, social and cultural development and activate them and how to activate research and access to production and investment and adopt the productive village initiative.


The day also included the opening of an exhibition, Prepare for Green, in which the Faculty of Mass Communication participated, under the supervision of Dr. Nadya Al-Qadi, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, and Dr. El-Sayed Al-Saeed, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication for Community Service and Environmental Development. And the College of Agriculture projects exhibition under the supervision of Dr. Ayman Hafez, Dean of the College, and Dr. Ibrahim Darwish, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.


At the end of the second week festival for community service, Sharaf presented the university shield to all participants in the scientific sessions and ambassadors of sustainable development in appreciation of their efforts and honoring the esteemed University of Menoufia and certificates of appreciation to the organizing committee formed by Dr. Magdy Matar, Dr. Maryam Mansour, Dr. Heba Ezz El Din, Dr. Dina Gad, Dr. Heba Al-Ghatmi, Alaa Fathi, Director General of the General Administration for Community Service, Howaida Al-Wahsh, Director General of the College of Early Childhood Education. The university shield was also presented to the sponsors of the festival, Dr. Islam El-Ashmawy, "Jamjoom Pharma Company" and Dr. Farid Wagdy, "The Unique Eye Center".


The closing day of the festival was attended by Dr. Abd al-Rahman al-Baguri, former vice president of the university, a large number of deans and vice deans for community service and environmental development, a group of faculty members, assistant staff, members of the university's administrative staff, and male and female students.
