Today, Dr. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, held a meeting of the Postgraduate Studies Council, with the participation of the Vice Deans of Postgraduate Studies, members of the committee, the Director General of Postgraduate Studies and the Director General of Cultural Relations Online.
At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Qasid congratulated the university employees and council members on the night of the middle of Sha'ban and the approaching month of Ramadan.
Al-Qased indicated that the Graduate Studies Committee discussed the plan of the university and colleges in the field of scientific research and postgraduate studies, and the proposal of the colleges to add new scientific diplomas and ways to overcome the obstacles facing researchers and graduate students and solve the problems of defaulters.
Al-Qasid directed the need to make a permanent inventory of the numbers of postgraduate students and everything related to their academic data, and to immediately overcome any obstacles they face.
Al-Kasid announced his intention to establish an "International Relations Office" to communicate with external parties and help faculty members to publish internationally and communicate with the Knowledge Bank as well as sponsoring scholarship students and foreign students, which contributes to activating and revitalizing scientific exchange between the university and developed countries in all fields. In attracting and caring for expatriates and student exchange, providing all means of support for them, and overcoming all obstacles facing these students.
The university president added that the establishment of an office for financing and publishing support was discussed, as well as the establishment of an international classifications office aimed at placing Menoufia University in the ranks of international universities by studying and following up the standards of those classifications and working to meet their requirements to improve the academic level of the university.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Qased added that the session also dealt with topics related to the work of the General Administration of Postgraduate Studies and Cultural Relations, and the committee approved the minutes of the previous session’s meeting and briefed on the follow-up of the decisions that were implemented. During the meeting, the annual and semi-annual reports of some postgraduate students registered for two degrees were briefed. Master's and PhD degrees for the previous and current academic year, as well as briefing on the scientific reports submitted by members of scientific missions and scientific reports submitted by university faculty members on their attendance at conferences inside and outside the university in Egyptian and Arab universities.
Al-Qased referred to the formation of a central committee for the ethics of scientific research headed by the Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, with a representative membership of all sectors in the university’s faculties, the medical sector, the engineering sector, and the humanities sector, to coordinate and lay the foundations and rules for the scientific research ethics committees formed in the faculties.
The President of the University announced that 24,541 research papers for faculty members at the university were published in international scientific journals during the last period, indicating that 243 research papers were published during the month of February, including 218 collective research.
