Dr. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, participates in the work of the 55th session of the Association of Arab Universities, which is held at the University of Sousse and the University of Monastir in Tunisia, with the participation of a number of public universities, including the universities of Ain Shams, Alexandria, Helwan, Tanta, Beni Suef, Banha, the New Valley, Kafr El-Sheikh, and some Egyptian private universities that are members of the Union The Egyptian delegation participating in the session is headed by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, who was keen on the active participation of Egyptian universities in this important activity, and in the presence of Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, former Egyptian Minister of Higher Education and Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities.

The Egyptian delegation also participated in the meetings of the Association of Arab Scientific Research Councils, which are held on the sidelines of the 55th session of the Association of Arab Universities.

Dr. Ahmed Farag El-Kased stressed the importance of the role of Egyptian universities, which constitute a large part of the strength of the Union, to open horizons for cooperation between those interested in university education and scientific research at the Arab level, in the presence and participation of the Egyptian and Tunisian Ministers of Higher Education and a large group of heads of Arab universities.

It is worth noting that the two-day sessions discuss developments in the fields of higher education and ways to activate cooperation between Arab universities, as well as a discussion of the open access initiative and its impact on scientific research, in addition to the work of the Executive Council of the Association of Universities and the specific committees.
