Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, participated in the regular meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities, headed by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, yesterday, Wednesday, and in the presence of Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary of the Council and members of the Council, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. .
Dr. Ahmed El-Kased confirmed that the Council began the meeting by sending a cable of thanks to President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the Republic, for his sponsorship and honoring the celebration of the excellence of Egyptian universities at Suez Canal University, and his honoring of the first Egyptian universities in a large celebration held at the Suez Canal Authority Professor in Ismailia Governorate. The Council also appreciates the directives of Mr. President Abdel Fattah. Sisi, President of the Republic, during the activities of the “Story of a Homeland” session in the presence of the heads of Egyptian university student unions at Suez Canal University, where he directed the establishment of 17 new technological universities, with the participation of the “Long Live Egypt” Fund, as an extension of the path he previously directed to establish 10 new technological universities. It is currently operating, covering the network of technological universities in all governorates of the Republic, as well as the directives of the President of the Republic, to allocate 50 million pounds from the Long Live Egypt Fund in support of the innovation and creativity initiative in universities in cooperation with the industry sector.
The Council expressed its sincere thanks and appreciation for the unlimited support provided by the political leadership to the higher education and scientific research system, and the achievement of many diverse achievements, as well as the cooperation of all state agencies to improve the educational and research system in Egypt, and its positive impact on the international classification of Egyptian universities, and activating the role of universities in Supporting sustainable development issues in all sectors in the country.
The Council also stressed the implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, in his meeting at the Supreme Council of Universities at Suez Canal University, through executive programs with specific timetables. The Council will periodically follow up on the implementation of these directives at all levels of required development by supporting the scientific disciplines that It focuses on digitization, increasing the link between new academic programs and the labor market, and activating the role of universities in confronting the challenges facing the country.
The university president added that the council discussed in its session the readiness of all universities and institutes to start the academic year 2023-2024, providing all logistical needs, emphasizing the commitment of faculty members and supporting staff to be present on campus from the first day of study, and following up on developing executive plans for cultural, artistic and sports activities in preparation. For the new university year.
