Menoufia University, under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of the University, organized a medical convoy to the village of Kafr El-Sheikh Obaid in Tala, and another integrated medical, developmental, awareness-raising convoy in the village of Shahid Fikry in Berkat El-Sabaa, and the village of Al-Sanasba in Menouf, under the supervision of Dr. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.


Dr. Ahmed El-Kased pointed out the importance of raising health awareness among citizens in the villages most in need, stressing the university’s keenness to launch its comprehensive medical development and awareness convoys, provide health care to those who deserve it, and work to advance the engine of sustainable development by raising community awareness and confronting negative phenomena that hinder the progress of society, noting. He pointed out that the university pays special attention to school students as they are the nucleus of the future, pointing out the importance of providing awareness guidance to protect children, discussing recurring problems with children, developing a proposal for treatment methods, and identifying the psychological and social needs that contribute to treatment.


El-Kased explained that the medical convoys examined approximately 380 patients, including 143 children, 90 internal medicine, 111 ophthalmia, 132 nose and ear, 59 chest, 22 dermatology, 11 surgery, 85 general health, and 60 virus B tests.


Dr. Sobhi Sharaf added that the educational awareness-raising convoys organized seminars under the title No to Violence, No to Bullying and Lying in Children...Causes and Solutions, and others on the phenomenon of harassment among students and methods of confronting it. They also presented an educational seminar on setting goals and correct planning.


A large number of doctors in various specialties and specialized professors from the College of Home Economics participated in the convoy’s work, under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Al-Nomani, Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Hani Shuraim, Dean of the National Liver Institute, Dr. Rania Azmi, Vice Dean of the College of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Essam. Abdel Hafez, Dean of the College of Home Economics and Vice Dean of the College for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Nahed Ghoneim, Dean of the College of Education, Dr. Farid Wajdi, Vice Dean of the College of Applied Health Sciences and General Supervisor of Caravans, Dr. Mahmoud Fawzi, Vice Dean of the College of Education, and Hamdi Abdel Rahman, Director General of the General Administration of Community Service, Hussam Abu El-Naga, Director of the University’s Convoys Department.
