The President of Menoufia University witnesses the conclusion of the Fifth Egyptian University Leadership Program “Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Employment”

Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, witnessed the conclusion of the activities of the fifth edition of the Egyptian University Leadership Program in the presence of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fulbright Commission. The program was hosted by the Fulbright Commission Egypt and was held in Sahl Hasheesh in Hurghada with the participation of Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Universities, and Engineer Raymond. Miller, the founding partner of Raafat Miller Consulting, Dr. Maggie Nassif, Executive Director of the Fulbright Commission in Egypt, 27 presidents of public and private universities, deputies and assistants to the Minister of Higher Education, and a group of education leaders in the ministry.

The University President indicated that this event is the start of the anniversary celebrations of the founding of the Fulbright Program in Egypt in 1949, and the celebration of 75 years of cooperation and cultural and academic exchange between Egypt and the United States. This year, the Authority also celebrates the fifth edition of the Egyptian University Leadership Program, which has been gathering since 2018. Higher education leaders in Egypt in discussions and seminars with American speakers discussed important topics about the development of higher education in the global context, technology management, crisis management, and the relationship between universities and their local communities.
The university president added that Dr. Foster Ari Agbalfour, a graduate of the Fulbright Distinguished American Scholars Program for Egypt and Distinguished Professor of Biological Engineering at the Utah Science, Technology and Research Initiative and Director of the Bioenergy Center at Utah State University, moderated the discussion in the program that was held this year under the title “From the Laboratory to the Market: Innovation.” “Entrepreneurship and Employment” and discussed strategic planning for effective and influential scientific research, developing research complexes to stimulate the economy, entrepreneurship and small companies, and evaluating the impact of research innovations. The discussion was based on studying several successful cases from different countries.
