Today, Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, participated in planting 800 fruit trees as part of the presidential campaign for the “Hengmalha” initiative to plant 100 million fruit trees throughout Egypt, in which the University President planted high-productivity caviar lemon trees and some fruit trees in the general administration of the university in the presence and participation of Dr. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Hazem Saleh, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Dr. Nasser Abdel Bari, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Engineer Muhammad Qabtan, President of the “Hingmalha” Foundation, Dr. Ayman Hafez, Dean of the College of Agriculture, and Dr. Ibrahim Darwish, Vice President of the College of Agriculture. For community service and environmental development affairs, Dr. Faten Salah, Director of the Training and Evaluation Unit at the Ministry of Agriculture, Engineer Hatem Nasr, Engineer Doaa Hossam El-Din at the Environmental Affairs Agency in the Central Delta, and a family of Students for Egypt.

Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of the University, confirmed that the “Henjmalha” initiative to plant 100 million fruit trees, which was launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, came to keep pace with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, which included many development and strategic goals, including beautifying the regions of Egypt by planting 100 million fruit trees across the country. Republic to preserve the environment and move towards green, stressing that Egypt is one of the first countries in the Middle East to have real environmental awareness and a climate strategy that extends to the year 2050.

Dr. Ahmed El-Kased also indicated that Menoufia University will participate in the campaign activities by planting approximately 800 fruit trees, and that the university will also contribute to providing approximately 15 thousand seedlings through the nursery of the University’s Faculty of Agriculture, which has agricultural specializations and modern methods in agricultural systems. Seedlings by the end of this year to help the state beautify the streets and various areas throughout the republic.

El-Kased pointed out the university’s interest in climate change and educating students at the university about shifting towards green, supporting the green economy and sustainability in the face of climate change through conferences and initiatives organized by the university, which contribute to developing awareness-raising thought to preserve the environment, and that the university will invite students with the start of the new academic year to plant trees in Colleges to raise their awareness of the necessity of preserving the university’s green space.


Dr. Sobhi Sharaf added that planting fruit trees on the university campus; It is a reflection and awareness of the university’s responsibility to preserve the environment and provide an appropriate climate, indicating that the university places among its priorities improving environmental performance, raising public awareness, and increasing the area of ​​green space on campus and colleges, which results in achieving various positive health and environmental impacts.


The head of the “Hangmelha” Foundation for Sustainable Development, Engineer Mohamed Qabtan, confirmed that the 100 million fruit trees initiative is one of the presidential initiatives that comes within the framework of the Egyptian state’s efforts in the climate change file to double the per capita share of green spaces, improve air quality, reduce greenhouse gases, and achieve Making the most of trees and improving the public health of citizens, noting that Egypt is one of the first countries in the Middle East to plant 12 million fruit trees throughout Egypt from Marsa Matruh to Halayeb and Shalateen.


On the sidelines of the event, Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, handed over the university’s shield to Engineer Mohamed Qabtan, President of the Hengelha Foundation, and Engineer Hatem Nasr.,
