A Student Delegation from Menoufia University Undertakes a National Visit to North Sinai to Promote Awareness and Belonging

Under the patronage of Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, the Popular and Military Defense Forces Command, in cooperation with the Military Education Department and the Leaders Preparation Department at the General Administration of Student Welfare at Menoufia University, organized a field visit for a student delegation to North Sinai Governorate. The visit was supervised by Prof. Nasser Abdelbary, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and coordinated with Lt. Col. Taha Salah Matar, Director of the Military Education Department at the University.

The visit comes within the framework of the state’s keenness to strengthen national belonging among youth, instill and develop the spirit of loyalty, and raise awareness of the scale of efforts exerted to achieve comprehensive development in Sinai, as it represents an integral part of Egypt’s national security.

Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, affirmed that organizing this visit is in implementation of the directives of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, regarding the organization of student visits to Sinai, with the aim of enhancing national awareness among youth and acquainting them with historical and tourist landmarks, in addition to the industrial and economic projects taking place in Sinai, given their pivotal role in the social, cultural, and cognitive development of society.

He added that Menoufia University seeks to prepare a conscious generation of youth capable of assuming responsibility by introducing them to the history of their ancestors and their sacrifices for the liberation of the land, as well as informing them of the scale of achievements accomplished by the Egyptian state in recent years, which represent a source of pride for every Egyptian.

Prof. Nasser Abdelbary, Vice President of Menoufia University for Education and Student Affairs, emphasized that this visit is part of the university’s plan aimed at developing national awareness among students and linking academic aspects with real-life field experiences, thereby contributing to shaping a well-rounded student personality.

He added that such visits are an effective tool for instilling the values of belonging and loyalty to the homeland and for acquainting youth with the magnitude of challenges and achievements witnessed by the Egyptian state, especially in strategically important areas such as North Sinai. He also noted the university’s commitment to continuing the organization of such activities in support of building a conscious generation capable of positive participation in the development process.

Lt. Col. Taha Matar pointed out that the visit program included a number of vital and historical sites in North Sinai Governorate, including the North Sinai Sector Command, El-Arish Seaport, the seawater desalination plant in El-Arish city, the Red Crescent Aid Area, in addition to a visit to the historic Tabbat El-Shagara site. This enabled students to gain insight into the military, developmental, and humanitarian aspects of the governorate.

The student delegation was accompanied during the visit by faculty members Dr. Islam Fayadallah, leader of the student group; Mr. Osama Deif, Director of the Leaders Preparation Department; Mr. Yasser Negm, Student Supervisor; and Ms. Asmaa El-Hady, Supervisor of Female Students, under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Shaheen, Director General of the General Administration of Student Welfare. A comprehensive briefing was provided to students on the nature of national and developmental projects and the role of state institutions in supporting stability and achieving sustainable development in North Sinai.
