Menoufia University President Chairs Government Excellence Committee Meeting, Emphasizing That Spreading Excellence Culture Is a Strategic Priority of the University Media Department 16/05/2026 Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, chaired an expanded meeting of the Standing Committee for Activating Government Excellence Practices at the university. The meeting reviewed the final technical arrangements and documentation related to nomination files for the fifth cycle of the Egypt Government Excellence Award 2026, organized by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development. The meeting was attended by Prof. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Nehad Osman, Deputy General Coordinator of the Egypt Government Excellence Award, and members of the committee representing various university faculties. During the meeting, the President announced that the electronic application process and nomination submissions remain open for all university sectors and faculties until 30 June 2026. He stressed the importance of utilizing this period to further develop and refine nomination files to ensure strong representation that reflects the status and history of Menoufia University in the Government Excellence platform. He affirmed that the Egypt Government Excellence Award represents a key pillar in promoting institutional development and improving administrative performance efficiency, noting that the university follows an integrated vision aimed at embedding quality, governance, and innovation across academic and administrative sectors in line with Egypt’s national vision for sustainable development. He further explained that the current cycle of the award focuses on fostering both individual and institutional competition, which positively contributes to strengthening cooperation between the university and various service institutions, ultimately improving service quality for citizens and achieving the goals of Egypt Vision 2030 for sustainable development. The President also praised the ongoing efforts of Menoufia University in implementing governance standards and workplace fairness, as well as in promoting a culture of excellence in daily work environments. He highlighted the university’s success in enhancing institutional readiness and sustaining outstanding performance based on achievements from previous award cycles. He added that the university is committed to providing full technical and administrative support to faculties and participating sectors to ensure the preparation of strong nomination files that reflect the university’s development across various fields. He emphasized that teamwork and institutional integration are fundamental pillars for achieving advanced rankings in the award. In this context, he directed the formation of specialized working teams to provide technical support, conduct desk reviews, and carry out field evaluation visits for nominated faculties, including the Faculty of Pharmacy, the National Liver Institute, the Faculty of Electronic Engineering in Shebin El-Kom, and the Faculty of Engineering. These teams are scheduled to begin their evaluation activities immediately after the submission deadline at the end of June, in preparation for the official assessment and judging phase conducted by the Ministry of Planning from July to September 2026. He called on all academic and administrative staff to actively participate and apply in the individual and newly introduced categories this year, stressing that excellence is no longer an optional approach but a comprehensive working methodology adopted by the university to enhance academic and administrative performance across all sectors. It is worth noting that the fifth cycle of the Egypt Government Excellence Award 2026 serves as a national tool to promote leadership and competitiveness among participating government entities. It introduces several new categories aligned with national development directions, including the “Best Joint Project and Initiative Award” to enhance cross-sector collaboration, the “Best Disability-Friendly Entity Award,” and the “Digital Government Services Maturity Excellence Award.” Share
