Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, chaired a meeting of the University's Permanent Committee for Activating Government Excellence Practices to review the final preparations for nomination files for the fifth cycle of the Egypt Government Excellence Award 2026, organized by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development. This comes within the framework of the University's commitment to promoting a culture of institutional excellence and enhancing administrative and academic performance.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Sobhy Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Alaa Radwan, General Coordinator of the Egypt Government Excellence Award; Prof. Noha Othman, Deputy General Coordinator of the Award; and members of the Permanent Committee for Activating Excellence Practices across the University's faculties and sectors.
During the meeting, the University President confirmed that the electronic application process for the award remains open and that nomination requests from all faculties and sectors will continue to be accepted until 30 June 2026. He stressed the importance of utilizing the remaining period to complete and further develop nomination files in a manner that reflects the University's achievements and distinguished institutional practices, thereby enhancing its opportunities to compete for advanced positions.
Prof. El-Kased explained that Menoufia University places the dissemination of a culture of excellence, quality, and governance among its strategic priorities, based on its belief that the sustainable development of institutional performance is a fundamental basis for improving services and enhancing operational efficiency. This approach aligns with the directions of the Egyptian state and Egypt Vision 2030, which aims to build more efficient, innovative, and sustainable governmental institutions.
The University President pointed out that the award represents an important national platform for encouraging positive competition among institutions and individuals, stimulating creativity and innovation, and promoting the exchange of expertise. These efforts contribute to the development of the governmental work system and achieving the highest levels of satisfaction among service beneficiaries.
Prof. El-Kased further emphasized that the University has successfully established numerous institutional practices that support excellence over recent years and continues to strengthen the principles of transparency, fairness, equal opportunities, and workplace improvement. These efforts ensure the sustainability of outstanding performance and continuous development across various sectors.
He added that the University provides the necessary technical and advisory support to faculties and sectors participating in the award through specialized teams responsible for follow-up, review, and preliminary evaluation processes. This support ensures the preparation of comprehensive nomination files that meet evaluation criteria and accurately reflect the University's progress at all levels.
During the meeting, participants reviewed and followed up on the latest developments related to the faculties and entities shortlisted for the national award, including the Faculty of Pharmacy, the National Liver Institute, the Faculty of Engineering in Shebin El-Kom, and the Faculty of Electronic Engineering. Discussions also focused on technical support plans and preparations for the next stage of evaluation.
The committee additionally reviewed the implementation status of several newly introduced institutional awards, including the Equal Opportunities Award, the Best Disability-Friendly Entity Award, the Distinguished Digital Experience Award, and the Best Institutional Initiative Award. It also followed up on individual award categories, including Best Employee, Best Department Manager, and Best General Director.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the University President called upon all University members to actively participate in the various award categories, emphasizing that excellence has become both a workplace culture and an institutional approach adopted by the University across all its sectors. He noted that this commitment contributes to enhancing the University's competitiveness and enabling it to fulfill its educational, research, and community service mission in the best possible manner.
