Strategic Partnership Between Menoufia University and the Ministry of Interior's Medical Services Sector to Support Medical Training, Qualify Healthcare Professionals, and Enhance the Healthcare System Media Department 21/06/2026 Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, and Major General Dr. Saeed El-Naggar, First Assistant Minister of Interior for the Medical Services Sector, signed a cooperation protocol between Menoufia University and the Medical Services Sector of the Ministry of Interior. The protocol aims to strengthen joint cooperation in the fields of training, postgraduate studies, scientific research, and educational and training activities, while reinforcing collaboration between both institutions and maximizing the utilization of their available expertise and capabilities. This cooperation seeks to advance educational, medical, and research services in line with Egypt's national strategy to promote institutional partnerships and enhance medical education and healthcare services. Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased emphasized that signing this protocol aligns with the University's strategy of strengthening cooperation with leading national institutions and expanding partnerships that contribute to the development of the healthcare and educational systems. He noted that cooperation with the Ministry of Interior's Medical Services Sector represents a significant addition, given the sector's distinguished expertise and advanced capabilities. He added that the protocol will contribute to enhancing the competencies of healthcare professionals, supporting postgraduate programs and continuous professional development, and promoting applied scientific research, all of which will positively impact the quality of healthcare services provided to citizens. He reaffirmed the University's commitment to utilizing its academic and scientific capabilities in support of sustainable development goals and Egypt Vision 2030. For his part, Major General Dr. Saeed El-Naggar, First Assistant Minister of Interior for the Medical Services Sector, stated that the protocol reflects the sector's commitment to expanding cooperation with distinguished Egyptian universities and benefiting from their academic and research expertise to support and further develop the national healthcare system. He affirmed that the partnership with Menoufia University represents an important step toward preparing highly qualified healthcare professionals in accordance with the latest scientific and professional standards, while strengthening continuous medical education and training programs. This collaboration will contribute to improving the quality of healthcare services and promoting integration between educational and medical institutions in service of society and sustainable development. The protocol further emphasizes the importance of integration between distinguished educational and medical institutions in line with Egypt Vision 2030, contributing to improving the quality of healthcare, educational, and research services provided to the community through the exchange of scientific expertise and the implementation of joint programs and activities serving various medical specialties. The protocol includes several areas of cooperation, most notably organizing specialized training courses at the Clinical Skills Laboratory of Menoufia University for physicians and staff of the Medical Services Sector, while providing appropriate facilities for participants. It also allows enrollment in a number of the University's professional diploma programs, including the Professional Diploma in Infection Control, the Professional Diploma in Hospital Quality Management, and the Professional Diploma in Crime Scene Investigation, with the necessary support and facilities provided to participants. The cooperation also covers the preparation and organization of periodic scientific conferences and specialized seminars across various medical disciplines, in addition to organizing joint workshops and training programs to exchange modern expertise and skills among faculty members, consultant physicians, and postgraduate students. Furthermore, the protocol supports the implementation of joint applied research projects in the fields of community service and environmental development, with efforts directed toward publishing research outcomes at both national and international levels. The protocol also stipulates joint coordination in promoting scientific activities and events through the official platforms of both parties, thereby maximizing the benefits of the partnership and expanding scientific and professional participation. The agreement will remain in effect for five years from the date of signing and may be renewed upon the approval of both parties and the relevant authorities. A joint coordination and follow-up mechanism will also be established to ensure the effective implementation of the protocol and the achievement of its objectives. The signing ceremony was attended by Major General Nabil El-Husseiny, Deputy Assistant Minister of Interior for the Medical Services Sector; Major General Emad El-Hawary, Director General of the Cairo Hospitals Sector; Major General Mohamed Abdullah, Director General of the Medical Services Sector; and Major General Hossam Othman, Director General of the Giza Hospitals Sector. Prof. Rania Azmy, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, was appointed as the protocol coordinator on behalf of Menoufia University, while Major General Dr. Nabil Fekry, Deputy Head of the Medical Services Sector and Chairman of the Scientific Committee, was appointed as the coordinator representing the Ministry of Interior's Medical Services Sector. They will oversee the implementation of joint activities and prepare periodic reports on the progress achieved through this collaboration. Share
