Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, announced that the University has begun preparing a comprehensive action plan aimed at positioning Menoufia University among Tier 1 universities, in line with the directives of the political leadership and the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, led by Prof. Abdelaziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The initiative also responds to the discussions of the Supreme Council of Universities regarding the development of comprehensive institutional plans that will enable Egyptian universities to compete according to international standards and strengthen their regional and global standing.

The announcement came during a meeting chaired by the University President and attended by Prof. Hatem Sayed Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information and Supervisor of the Information Center; Prof. Salah Hegazy, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry and Advisor to the University President for Innovation; Prof. Essam Helal, Engineering Advisor to the University President; Dr. Rania Azmy, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Dr. Alaa Radwan, General Coordinator of the Egypt Government Excellence Award; Dr. Noha Othman, Deputy Director of the Quality Assurance Center; and Maher Morcos, Director General of the General Administration for Talent Development.

Prof. El-Kased explained that the plan is fully aligned with Egypt's Vision and the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It focuses on advancing education, scientific research, and innovation, strengthening governance and digital transformation, and enhancing the quality of academic and administrative performance, thereby contributing to the knowledge economy, supporting sustainable development goals, and improving the University's competitiveness in international rankings.

He emphasized that Menoufia University possesses all the capabilities required to join the ranks of leading universities, highlighting the significant progress achieved in internationalization, digital transformation, quality assurance, and governance. He also pointed to the continuous development of the University's digital infrastructure and the launch of its new electronic portal, which have enhanced the efficiency of educational and administrative services while improving the experience of students, faculty members, and researchers.

The University President noted that the development plan aims to increase international scientific publications in high-impact journals, promote research excellence through major internationally significant research projects, strengthen links between scientific research and the needs of industry and the national economy, foster innovation and entrepreneurship, and transform research outcomes into practical applications and development projects that contribute to economic and societal progress.

Prof. El-Kased added that the plan also includes expanding joint academic programs with leading international universities, pursuing additional international accreditations, attracting more international students and researchers, activating cooperation protocols with the industrial sector, and establishing new partnerships with productive and research institutions to maximize the University's academic and research capabilities.

He further explained that the University is working to strengthen its research ecosystem through the establishment of an advanced multidisciplinary research center, in addition to creating a specialized Organ Transplantation Research Center, which will enhance the University's role in supporting applied scientific research and developing innovative solutions to health and development challenges in line with global trends in research and innovation.

Prof. El-Kased stressed that building the capacities of faculty members and teaching assistants, upgrading educational and research infrastructure, and improving university services represent key pillars of the development plan. He noted that the Supreme Council of Universities, chaired by Prof. Abdelaziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, has directed universities to prepare clear implementation plans supported by measurable key performance indicators. Menoufia University, he added, will finalize its strategic vision according to a defined timetable that ensures sustainability and strengthens its competitiveness among leading universities at the national, regional, and international levels.

He also pointed out that the preparation of this action plan coincides with the University's preparations to celebrate its Golden Jubilee, marking 50 years since its establishment. He described this milestone as a historic turning point that will launch a new phase of excellence and leadership through the implementation of major development projects and strategic initiatives that will reinforce the University's position locally, regionally, and internationally, in line with Egypt's vision of building smart, research-intensive universities capable of competing among the world's leading institutions.

Prof. El-Kased concluded by emphasizing that achieving Tier 1 status is not merely a ranking objective, but rather a comprehensive institutional project built upon academic excellence, scientific research, innovation, and community service. He stressed that accomplishing this vision requires the collective efforts of all sectors of the University and a strong spirit of teamwork to implement an ambitious strategy that meets future challenges and further strengthens Menoufia University's position among distinguished universities regionally and globally, in line with Egypt's Vision and the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
