As part of the State's efforts to advance the medical education system in accordance with international standards and labor market needs, Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, participated in the third meeting of the Committee for Developing a National Vision for Medical Education and Training. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Ashraf Hatem, Chairman of the Medical Studies Sector Committee at the Supreme Council of Universities, and attended by committee members including Prof. Yasser Magdy Hataita, President of Fayoum University; Prof. Ahmed Taha, Chairman of the General Authority for Healthcare Accreditation and Regulation (GAHAR); Prof. Mohamed Mostafa Latif, President of the Egyptian Health Council; Prof. Mansour Hassan, Former President of Beni-Suef University; Prof. Ashraf Abdel Basset, Academic President of the University of Hertfordshire Branch in the New Administrative Capital; Prof. Hossam Salah Ahmed Morad, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University; Prof. Ali Mohamed Ali El-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University; Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, Assistant Minister of Health and Population for Institutional Development and the Ministry's Official Spokesperson; and Prof. Omar Sherif Omar, Secretary of the Supreme Council of University Hospitals, who served as the committee's rapporteur.

Prof. El-Kased explained that the committee continues its work to develop a comprehensive framework incorporating practical and implementable solutions that will contribute to advancing medical education and training while preparing physicians with the scientific knowledge and clinical competencies required to support sustainable development goals and Egypt's future vision for the healthcare sector.

The University President emphasized that his participation in the committee reflects Menoufia University's commitment to contributing to the development of an integrated national vision for medical education. He noted that this vision focuses on modernizing curricula, strengthening clinical training, and promoting innovation and scientific research to prepare highly qualified medical professionals capable of keeping pace with the rapid developments in the healthcare sector.

Prof. El-Kased added that the meeting continued discussions on the proposed implementation mechanisms for the various development pillars, as well as strategies for strengthening integration between universities, teaching hospitals, and healthcare service providers. Participants also discussed a range of initiatives aimed at enhancing the educational process to improve the quality of medical training and achieve the highest standards of excellence.

He further affirmed that Egyptian universities possess extensive academic and scientific expertise that enables them to play an active role in implementing the State's vision for developing the healthcare sector and improving the quality of medical services. During the meeting, Prof. El-Kased highlighted Menoufia University's ongoing efforts to modernize its academic programs, upgrade its educational infrastructure and university hospitals, and expand scientific and research partnerships, all of which contribute to enhancing the quality of medical education in line with the latest international standards.
