The Faculty's Foresight and Future Studies Unit organized a workshop titled "Digital Economy and Financial Culture" on Sunday, August 10, 2025. This workshop is part of the unit's ongoing efforts to raise awareness of the latest future trends to keep pace with accelerating economic and technological transformations. The seminar was delivered by Professor Dr. Hatem Mohamed Sayed Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty, who began his speech by emphasizing the importance of the digital economy as one of the primary drivers of economic growth in the modern era. He pointed out that a deep understanding of the concepts of the digital economy and financial culture has become an absolute necessity for every individual to be able to effectively address new challenges and opportunities. The workshop addressed several key topics, including: 🔹 Definition of the digital economy and its impact on methods of production, distribution, and financial services, and how it contributes to developing markets and stimulating innovation. 🔹 Financial culture and its importance in enabling individuals to make sound and informed financial decisions, especially in light of the availability of new and diverse digital financial tools. 🔹 Modern digital technologies, such as blockchain and cryptocurrencies, and their role in transforming the infrastructure of the global financial system. 🔹 The challenges and risks associated with the digital economy, including cybersecurity risks, personal data protection, and how to address them. 🔹 The importance of digital financial awareness and developing individual skills to keep pace with the rapid changes in the digital financial environment. 🔹 The role of education and scientific research in building a generation capable of anticipating the future and participating effectively in the knowledge economy.
