Dr. Adel Mubarak, President of Menoufia University, headed the round table today, it was organized by the Menoufia University Center for Professional Development with technical support from ILO and 13 private sector companies to discuss the consequences of corona on opportunities in the labour market in the presence of vice-presidents University Dr. Ahmed Al-kased for higher Studies and Research, Dr. Nancy Asaad for Education and students, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Bagouri for Community and Environmental Development, and Accountant Akram Abdul-Dayem, Secretary-General of the University, Dr. Subhi Sharaf, Dean of Education, Dr. Ayman Hafez, Dean of Agriculture, representatives of the American Agency for International Development, representatives of companies and officials of the Center.
Mubarak greeted the guests in Monofiya University congratulating those who are on the first year of its establishment in the university, which aims at closing the gap between the university and the labor market requirements by developing the students' abilities, providing vocational guidance services and increasing their opportunities in the labor market. During the year, the Center has provided training services to 4,000 students and graduates so far.
The university president praised the organization of this meeting to discuss the current situation and current practices of employing new graduates in the governorate, especially in the light of the crisis of Corona virus, job opportunities in different sectors, and making suggestions to create more suitable job opportunities for university graduates at the level of the state policies.
The meeting also discussed today the future trends to recruit university and higher education graduates, the quality of jobs required during the coming period, and the skills and abilities required for new graduates. Dr. Amin Qandil, Deputy Director of the Center, presented a presentation on the Center for Professional Development at Menoufia University and the achievements of the Center during the year, and the Center's free grants to students and graduates.
